Questions on possibility of teeth moving with Essix retainer

Hello, I had my braces removed about a month ago and my ortho gave me essix retainers which he asked me to put on all the time except when eating and brushing for the first 3 months. However I have a bit of a difficulty speaking with them on, as such I do not wear them for about 9 hours a day when i...

Upper linguals & conventional lowers

Hi, Its been 2 years 3 months since I had my braces on. My upper are linguals and the lowers are normal conventional damon brackets. The bottom ones looks almost done so recently I asked my ortho whether its possible to take out the lowers first but he said no, both needed to be on till the end. Jus...

Re: lingual worries

Hi, Just wanted to share my experience. It's been 1 year, 1 month since I had my linguals on and my teeth at the moment is worse before i started. So in my case, yes..it definitely gets worse before it gets better (hopefully it gets better soon). I have multiple gaps forming and 4 of my fronth teeth...

Re: Gaps closure time ?

Hi bracesscared... I actually wanted to ask the same question to everyone. I had 2 upper & 2 lower pre-molars taken out in January which is 4 months ago and honestly i don't think i can see any visible decrease in the gap space. It may have moved a tiny bit but to my eyes it looks just the same ...

Re: Changing Archwire

Hi guys,

Just want to ask, doesn't your ortho change the archwire during each visit? I've had my linguals on for 7 months and my archwire is being changed each time i go for adjustment which is about every 5 to 6 weeks. Fyi, I have the normal linguals on, not any fancy incognito type of linguals.

Re: Happy happy happy

Hi TDiamond, I saw your pics...your teeth are looking good!! And yes you don't have that much of an overbite. Unfortunately mine is quite noticeable. My frens & family have noticed and commented about them. Anyway, my ortho have told me not worry...the next visit will be extractions and pushing ...

Re: Happy happy happy

Hi TDiamond... I had my linguals put on 5 months ago. Before having braces only my 2 front teeth stucked out, but now all the other front tooth has been pushed out, making it look worst then before. I look awkward in photos. I'm so glad i read your post since i know someone else out they is in the s...

Extraction first before braces or the other way round?

Hi everyone, Just wanted to ask whether there is anyone in this forum who had their linguals fitted on first before extractions? I seem to notice that most people here had their extractions first before putting on their linguals. As for me, im 3 months down the road with my linguals but my ortho sai...

Hi Pimlico & lisa... Yup, it is tough...guess i have to say goodbye to nuts and hard food. As for speech, maybe you're right lisa. maybe im just imagining things. Anyway mine is the normal traditional lingual braces, not the fancy i-braces type. Maybe thats why i feel my speech is still effected...
