So the game plan is call ahead, be assertive about getting the questions answered but not put anyone in a possition they feel defensive and hope it all works out. It's good that you plan to go in with this assertive frame of mind. I hope when you go next your ortho will realise you mean business an...

I wish, when I had braces first time round, that I was told to wear them forever. I had NHS braces the first time round and my ortho said - wait for it - to wear them for 6 weeks full time (I did for 6 months) and then at nite for a while longer. And here I am 2nd time around. However to be honest i...

Ah no what a bummer! Yeah I agree with JoeMama - you should call up your ortho - it sounds almost as if he's forgotten what he said to you. On the other hand I'm sure you'd want to leave them on until the treatment is fully complete so don't let going on holiday with braces bother you as there's no ...

I have never brushed my teeth at work - I can't face the embarassment of everyone looking at me while I do so. I generally have a good old swig with water after I have eaten to dislodge any food but there's no way I'm prepared to brush in the ladies! Maybe I sound gross but I have been to th dentist...

I was breast fed and when my adult teeth came down they were absolutely awful (before the first round of braces). In fact, the original orthodontist asked my mum if I had had a serious fall of some sort as a child (how that would correlate I don't know). I hadn't - so my teeth were a mystery! Intere...

I also have the yellowish problem going on which is really annoying. I recommend a stain removing toothpaste or powder such as Eucryl which is really cheap in the UK and really helps to brighten my teeth up. Probably best to be careful what you use while the braces are on - you can get them properly...
