Hi, Firstly I would like to say that your teeth are looking very good and, to the untrained non-bracewearer's eye, pretty straight too (we on here are used to scrutinizing smiles aren't we!). Your bottom teeth look like they perhaps could benefit from being levelled off at the top - this in itself c...

As someone who has experienced both - conventional braces as a teenager and now Damon 3s which I've had on for 10 months, I don't really think Damons are any better or worse in terms of speed. However I do have to go to ortho less often (every 8-10 weeks), they are small and neat looking (even thoug...

I also have the same black bit when I get my wires changed and like others on here it scrubs off within a few days. However I have a different type of wire on the bottom arch now which my ortho says is a different material (?) and has little hooks soldered onto it ready for when I get elastics. On t...

Hi - your wire should not be able to slide around unless your ortho specfically wants it to. I have Damons too and my ortho puts that little clip right up to a bracket on either side off it and that's how it stays put! Hope this helps!

Bethne3 you took the words right out of my mouth! My ortho once mentioned to me that he had recently taken a lady's braces off for her wedding and out them back on again so it is possible to have them taken off for weddings at least...I'm sure it would also be OK for graduation pictures too... Good ...

I don't find it to be a problem at all. My boyfriend is gentle and doesn't crush me and is always extra considerate if I've had an adjustment. It's just a case of getting used to the slightly different feeling with braces at first but after a couple of weeks you don't notice any difference! LoobyLou x

Hmm I always thought if they were too pale that you're lacking in something and it's better to be darker pink (though I don't think very red is good either as I think it shows inflammation?).

Hope this helps...

I'm not sure if they have it elsewhere but in the UK we have Eucryl tooth powder which is a stain removing powder that you use once a week or so in place of your normal toothpaste. I find it really effective and it's really inexpensive too - it's been around for years but really does the trick when ...

I can't wait til I get my elastics and I'm pretty sure it will be at my next adjustment because during my adjustment yesterday my ortho put this new archwire on my bottoms with these funny little upside down hooks that look like antennae going between my canines and the teeth one in from them toward...

I'm afraid I can't identify with your unfortunate circumstance and I do hope that this discomfort doesn't last too long. Perhaps it's too tight to begin with or something? Just to let you know also that you have posted this in the questions, comments and bug reports section whereas it should be put ...

I just bought a waterpik and used it for the first time today. Though it scared the life out of me and I dribbled water all down my top it was really effective at dislodging bits of food in my teeth and is much easier than trying to floss with powerchains!!

I recommend...

Chinese food has to be on the top-ten list. You have the pleasure of the seaweed wrapping itself around the archwire and brackets :paperbag: , the beansprouts hiding in any nook or cranny :soremouth: , the aromatic duck wedging itself in between the small gaps and the wire and just to make doubly su...
