First adjustment today

My dentist was very pleased with the results so far, more developement than he had hoped for I guess

What bugs me is that I haven't been told how to best take care of my teeth now that they are braced. Yesterday I had a 10 minute appointment where my dentist put elastics around my upper and lower molars to prepare for adjustment of the bands for my upper braces and to get my bottom braces on tomorrow. It already hurts so much I don't feel like eating anything (which is not good since I'm hungry!)....

What causes some people to need wax and not?
I've had my braces for a week now, and have not had any soreness at all. I've asked many people for their best advice for me during this prosess and none of them have mentioned wax.

When I told one of my cousins that I needed braces he nearly went into shock. My teeth are not perfect, but there is no visual reason for braces. I had to explain to him (and most others) that I need this for health reasons like headaches and so on.

Got my braces on yesterday (July 14th 2010), on the upper jaw only since my dentist didn't want to put me through more for one session.

27 yrs old, got my braces yesterday..
Hoping to make this a photo-experiment where I take a picture between every visit to the dentist in order to see the development progress.
