Re: I miss my white teeth!
I use a product called "Plus White" Five Minute Whitening Gel, it is available at any drug store or Walmart. It is inexpensive and not too harsh. I used it before braces, during braces for over a year and a half and after, which has been about a year and a half. It is designed to be used w...

Re: Debrace in stages??
I don't know what that means, ie smaller wires, either top or bottom off first, no elastics or what? Mine was like you said in with and out without except for temporary retainer. Regardless it seems that you are close, very good and congrats.

Re: do damon braces really work faster
I have read all of the bragging on the Damon website about how superior their brackets are but I don't believe it; also read the message that tumble dry low refered to and absolutely concour. I had Damon 3MX brackets with good success but don't believe them superior than ligature type brackets. Your...

Re: Stiil Haven't Gotten My Archwires??
Can not answer your question as to why or what is protocol, but my observation is that most get archwires on at least a majority of their brackets from the get go; I got upper and lower on all 28 within minutes after spitting and washing the glue residual from my mouth. Obviously brackets with no wi...

Re: Wow, its been a year!
Retainers are like braces they get better once you get used to them, after first having a retainer I thought that it was worse than braces until I had it a while and you can remove it when you need to.

Re: my ortho took off my powerchain....
Duno, what I do know is that they usually know what they are doing and have reasons for their actions. Trust him you will be ok, easier to say than to do, I am in the retention stage and still wonder about cause and effect.

Re: Bruxism (Jaw Clenching)
This may sound like lip service but this has somewhat worked for me, try to train yourself not to grind by opening your bite while your mouth remains closed. Resist the urge to join your upper and lower teeth except while eating and especially at night before sleep.

Re: Treatment way longer than expected...severely depressed
Trying to empathize such a situation is depressing in of its self, don't give up you have the courage to keep going. It appears like it would be a mistake to quit at this point if there is yet potential for improvement. A second opinion may well be worth an effort.

Re: Last Months in Braces... Your experiences??
Answer to the question from berry does it hurt when they are removed, not at all. Mine were removed by the same assistant that installed them 19 mos previously, she used pliers to attach to the brackets then rotated them in a vertical direction. Both sets were off in a minute or so, then the Ortho p...

Re: Invisalign to Braces?
Personally I would get braces, they do the job and the thought of having them is far worse than the experience. Can your Ortho hook you up with out spending more?

Re: Last Months in Braces... Your experiences??
I liked my last few months in braces. Elastics in place for midline correction up until the last two months and had been in .019x.024 SS wires for a quite a few months. I was just over 19 mos wearing braces and emotionally could have gone a lot longer with no worries, but also had not had extraction...
