Re: Wha is a "virtual C chain"?
I believe this is what I had at the very end of my treatment with invisalign. My ortho removed a section of my last few aligners starting with my premolars and ending with my second molar. This closed up my spaces perfectly! Hopefully you will get great results too!

Re: My refinement......is 27 trays. How is that even possibl
I just finished with invisalign and had two refinements, both refinements were 20+ aligners long - my initial set of aligners was a series of 24. In total I had around 70 aligners over almost three years. I was extremely dedicated to wearing my aligners. It just took longer to move my teeth, but I h...

Re: New guy to Invisalign
When I first began invisalign I carried around disposable toothbrushes that already had toothpaste on them and brushed after each meal - dining in or out. But after a few months I just started putting back in my aligners and brushing when I got home from eating out. I tried to at least rinse my mout...

Re: Digital impressions
I found the digital scans to be more uncomfortable than the traditional mold impressions. One the flip side, the digital scans result in a much better fitting aligner. Its a trade off. In the long run Id go for the improved fit of the aligners over the comfort of the impressions.

Re: gunky trays after just 5 days
Invest in a sonic toothbrush and use it along with regular toothpaste daily to clean your aligners. I have been wearing Invisalign for almost three years and have only used this method to clean my aligners. No scratching, discoloration, damage of any kind has occurred to my aligners - period. I brus...

Re: Bad breath + going on a night out with Invisalign
bucky, i notice i have what i will call stale breath after a few hours if i dont drink something such as water periodically. my mouth seems to get dry. try taking a drink or two of water just to re-wet your mouth throughout the day. maybe try swishing it around like you would do with mouthwash. if y...

Re: number of refinements
I understand your frustration. I had 24 aligners in my first round of treatment. I started refinements a week ago, and have 23 more aligners! The tech in my ortho's office said it is the "perfection side" of my orthodontist. I do want to make sure and get my money's worth in terms of havin...

Re: Invisalign iOC Digital Tooth Scanner
I wanted to post a quick follow up to my experience with the digital scans versus the traditional impressions I had the first time around. I went to my ortho yesterday to get my new aligners for my first refinement. Let me tell you it is like night and day how well the new aligners fit (the ones mad...

Re: Invisalign iOC Digital Tooth Scanner
I will be getting refinements in three weeks, and my ortho just started using this new scanner instead of taking impressions. I will write an update to this post once I have it done! I had my refinement scans done today using this new digital technology. Personally I wasn't too keen on this. The pr...

Re: Is the expensive cleaning system worth it?
I bought a six month supply of Retainer Brite when I first started wearing aligners. I noticed that I still had to use a toothbrush to get the aligners 100% clean and free of build up (even in combination with a sonic cleaner). I have since stopped using the cleaning system and instead just use toot...

Re: lost set 9 of 18top/14bottom
If it were me i would go back to your previous aligner. At least this way you know your teeth won't regress any further than they already have (regress beyond the position in which they were at in the previous aligner that is). Thats just my opinion though.

Re: Bad Breath only AFTER remove aligners to eat
bbsamin - My point of disagreement was with your statement that a toothbrush would scratch aligners. As for your posted study about what can grown and be found on aligners, I guess I'm not that OCD to feel that I need to disinfect my aligners. Keeping them clean and free of dried saliva suffices for...
