Re: Paying for Invisalign
Your teeth will move if left to themselves. Not necessarily to their original positions, and in my case most likely not - as I had 2.5mm worth of tooth removed in total to make room to fix my overcrowding, so they'd settle in a new position. My teeth remain where they are meant to be. For the first ...

Re: Invisalign on the go
I also recommend a little pack of tissues or napkins - a lot of places I ended up brushing my teeth only had hand dryers, and that made it awkward when my face and hands and particularly my cleaning stuff were wet and I wanted to dry it all off before putting it back into the bag. As a precaution I ...

Re: Paying for Invisalign
Hi Mike, How is your treatment going? It is probably rather late for you, but might help others with a similar query - my dentist did a deal where I paid a couple of deposits, and then cash installments. I paid £350 for my impressions, treatment plan etc. Then I paid £500 to order the aligners and g...

Re: I prefer my teeth with Invisalign
I felt the same at the end of my treatment - I thought my teeth looked (and felt) way better with the aligners on. But then the attachments were removed, and they looked instantly better. You'll get used to the naked teeth look :) Remember how strange your aligners felt when you first had them? Your...

Re: I hate getting my impressions done
It made me wonder why this couldn't have been done from the start?! I'd guess its easier for them to do the impressions in the normal dental position, but if the patient is having problems they can be done in the seated position instead - probably just makes it a little more awkward for the dentist...

Re: If i hear "your teeth look fine" one more time!!!!!
I also got similar comments in the beginning, until I opened my jaw up wide and showed them a new view of my teeth, then they were like 'oh yeah... that's pretty bad... I never realised'. Mainly because for years I'd unconsciously been smiling closed-mouthed and hiding my teeth. Most people have bee...

Re: I'm all done!
But, the way your teeth sit in the front seemingly on top of each other, is that going to create problems down the line in wear and tear of the front teeth? Or are you just holding your teeth that way. I just don't see the normal 2mm overbite that makes a good bite. I was never assured of a good bi...

I'm all done!
After 11 months in Invisalign I am now officially in retainers. My full story can be found at my blog, along with lots of photos, linked in my signature. Brief run down - I chose to have my teeth sorted out because my gums were in bad shape and I was having a lot of difficulty keeping my teeth clean...

Re: nearly finished invisalign
Don't worry, I'm in for the long haul. I'm so excited thinking about a time when I can just wear these things at night! But I'm paranoid about relapse so I think for a while I will actually end up wearing my retainers more than I need to. I haven't really been given a strict schedule to keep, I'm ju...

Re: June Debrace Club!
My invisalign attachments were all removed on the 21st June as I'd hoped, and my retainers ordered. Just phoned the ortho and they have arrived, wohoo! Going to collect them straight after work. Even though they aren't going to be that much different to the aligners which I've been wearing anyway, I...

Re: Invisalign and rotated canines? Confused!
My lower teeth were overcrowded, with each one more and more rotated as you move out from the centre (see my blog below for some photos and my clin check images). I've just completed 11 months of invisalign treatment - and all of them have just about ended up where they are supposed to be - except o...

Re: number of refinements
I can understand why you are upset! I've heard of similar situations before. I guess that first time around they were making their predictions on how the average person's teeth move. Now that you have had 10 months of treatment your ortho knows a bit more about which teeth are proving stubborn and h...

Re: What can I expect with IPR?
IPR is a very odd feeling. Not at all painful - you just feel pressure as they push the tool against the space. I had a total of 5 gaps created, each 0.5mm in size. It was about 3 months before they were closed.

Re: A positive note for all of us in Braces...........
My story is similar - except I was much much worse before braces. I never flossed, and I usually brushed twice a day, but sometimes I would go 'forget' and fall asleep before the night time cleaning. I've been in Invisalign for 11 months (just finished, pick up my retainers this evening wohoo). Duri...
