Huge reduction of overjet in less than a year! *pics*
I've been pretty rubbish at taking regular photos but thought I would show you how much things have changed in just 11 months and 2 weeks, and hopefully encourage those who are in a similar situation. My orthodontist thinkss they will be ready to come off in a couple of months. I'm so excited but ca...

Has anyone changed orthodonists and type of braces?
Hey everyone, I'm 7 months into treatment with ceremic braces and I'm not at all happy with the care I have received(mainly the aftercare). Basically in this short space of time the practice have cancelled and changed 3 appointments putting each one back 2-4 weeks. At the beginning of the year the p...

Re: Wow! Very encouraging indeed :)
Thank you all
lu lu, I used to think the same. Maybe it's because my overjet it so big and my ortho wants to see what he can do without taking any teeth out first? I may well need a couple out later on but it's nice to know that he's trying it this way first.

Re: Should I eat with Elastics?
I haven't had elastics that long but do take them out to eat. I don't like the way food wraps itself around them and I have to take them out after eating to clean my teeth anyway.
Elastics are a pain but very clever little things!

I've been in braces for 6 weeks and went back to my ortho on Monday (two weeks after 1st adjustment) to change the clear ligs for hot pink ones as they were beginning to stain and I thought they would look awful by the time I had my next appointment in January :D Anyhoo, he measured my overjet and i...

Re: photos taken in braces
I was helping a friend do the photos at a charity ball last weekend where the English actor James Sutton was there. I had my photo taken with him which I was soooo chuffed about but then when I saw the photo on the computer screen I was so embarrassed and it put me in a mood for a good few days! I c...

I had very little pain or discomfort in my teeth, they felt a bit wobbly for the first week or so and chewing was difficult but nothing that really bothered me. My mouth, however, felt like it was being tortured. I developed a lot of canker sores and the insides of my lips were so sore from the (cer...

Thanks all. I called just to make sure and they said it was fine to wait until my appointment, just thought I'd let you know what they said incase anyone else had the same thing happen. Over the weekend I had another lig break off, and have noticed that two of my bottom ceramic brackets are chipped ...

A lig has broken off, should I do anything?
I see my ortho on Tuesday so he can fix my pokey wires, will the bracket be ok without a lig until then or should I call them?

I suprised myself by eating a pizza last night, 3 days after having braces fitted. It wasn't painful but not very comfortable either and I didn't particularly enjoy it, it just seems like too much effort having to pick everything out the braces after :( Is food ever enjoyable again after having brac...
