Re: Clare's Story (Ireland)

Third adjustment is tomorrow! Ortho has up'd my appointments to every six weeks now! My teeth are completely straight now! I saw them without the wire at the last app and they are FAB-U-LOUS! I'm so happy with them! We have now started the extremely slow process of moving my top teeth to the right t...

Hi ShySmile, Congrats on taking the step to get braced! It will be worth it in the end. I've mine on only three months and I can't get over the changes already! I noticed you said you are getting your premolars out after being braced. I had the same thing, although I only had one extraction. It soun...

Nearly a month since I last posted an update! I've since had my first adjustment :-D The ortho says everything is going very well. My eye teeth are nearly 100% straight, at least 90% done now. I can see a lot more gaps now as the teeth straight to move to close the extraction gap! It's very exciting...

Went to the dentist on Sat and the thing I had feel between my teeth is a gap that I can't see at the front yet! YAY! :D I noticed the smallest gap between my crooked eye tooth and my front tooth last night, it kinda looks like I have something stuck in it, I'm so happy! First adjustment next Tuesday!

Ha, Cathy, you are so right about burgers being messy! I got a craving for a Big Mac about two weeks ago. I got it home, opened the box and realised it was going to be hell to eat it. I had to get a knife and fork out to it, and even then it went EVERYWHERE. I threw half of it out, it was very disap...

Trip to the dentist tomorrow for a general check up. Fingers crossed that I don't have any fillings that need doing! First adjustment is on the 12th! Really looking forward to it. I hope I'll see more movement after the adjustment as at the minute, I'm just seeing a gap right in the middle of my two...

You know yourself if you see movement, I saw movement after a week! I was delighted! But my teeth appear to be on a go slow at the minute.

If you are coming home to Ireland, bring your brolly, the weather is crap :(

Yesterday I noticed the teeny tinest gap between my crooked eye tooth and my front tooth! Yay! :D This is the one that I'm so excited to see move because it was the tooth that prompted this whole journey! I must try and post some pictures. In other news, I am also extremely worried about the same to...

My sister bought me a Waterpik yesterday :-D It's charging at home at the mo, I'm so excited to go home and use it!!! I have this horrible terrible fear that when my braces are off, my teeth will have loads of cavities because I'm missing out on places. Hopefully this is completely irrational becaus...

This thread just answered my question to you on my thread. Regarding the cost of braces in good ole Eire, yes it is buggering expensive! I live in Louth and the cost of braces here was about 4000euro! 20 mins up the road in Newry it's £2500, which is about 3000euro! When you do get back to Ireland a...

Nah, by the time you get to college, most people are passed the "ugh you have braces" stage! So many people have them now, it feels like a massive deal when you get them but after someone sees you with them once, it's over and they aren't bothered! Which can be annoying cos you want to be ...

Congrats on getting braced :) 18 is really young too for getting them on, a couple of my friends had braces at that age and I can honestly say I don't remember what they looked like with the braces on but their teeth are FABULOUS now!

So I had my extraction on Saturday. God it was awful! I had worked myself into such a panic going in! The dentist was lovely as she always is, but I was just so worked up, the nurse had to practically sit on me while the dentist was doing the work! Thank god it didn't bleed much and it seems to be h...

So I spoke to my Ortho about the wire, well to his secretary really. Apparently it does not matter that the wire is not connected, if it is not causing any pain it is ok. :? Seems a bit odd to me but I am assuming they know there stuff. I did send them an email before I rang explaining everything so...
