Re: Canine too long, possibility to push in?

My bottom central incisors were taller than my other teeth, and my ortho successfully pushed them down. I have Damons, and for 4 weeks I had the wire on top of the brackets instead of through them on those 2 teeth, and it worked pretty quickly to push them down.

Re: My smile looks awful now!

I know how you feel. I'm 4 months in and I have one top central incisor that was always really crooked. All of my other teeth have straightened out around it, but this one tooth isn't seeming to budge - so it just looks even worse now that everything else is straightening out. At my adjustment last ...

Re: Merry Ouchmas!

I hope your mouth feels better soon.

Is debanding painful?

I am 4 months in, so I still have a ways to go... at my adjustment yesterday, I had 2 brackets removed to be repositioned. YEEEEEWOUCH. It felt like my teeth were being pulled. Does it hurt as much when you get your braces off?

I think it has been more painful than I expected, especially right after I first got banded. I have to say, I am *very* thankful that my ortho does not do the old style spacers, then brackets around the molars like all the orthos used to do. I had a fixed retainer when I was 10 and I remember that b...

* I meant to say, I've had the wire changed on the top arch twice. I've still got the same wire on the bottom arch.

I'm a little over a month in, and my tops are nearly level, but my bottoms are going to take quite some time. One of my (2nd) premolars on the bottom is quite wedged between the teeth next to it (this is one of the spots where I had 2 baby teeth and my (adult) 1st premolar extracted. My top teeth ha...

I find myself doing the same thing!

I usually will excuse myself to brush my teeth when the meal is finished, or at least to do a quick check to make sure I don't have half my sandwich caught up in my grill!

I'm also one month in, 23 to go!

The gap shouldn't be a big deal - it looks like your teeth are moving closer to their correct midline so they both need to move to do that. Looks like great progress to me.

Welcome! I'm 30 (will be 31 next month) and I've got the same kind of braces. I've had them for 3 weeks now. I definitely understand why your ortho did not put brackets on your bottom front teeth - I've had to go back twice already to have bumper material added to my molars to "prop" my mo...

When I woke up this morning, my teeth were hitting a lot harder so I called first thing. I'm so glad I did - they told me that the top archwire had pretty much done all it was going to do (in 2 weeks), so they changed out the wire and hooked up the brackets on my back molars (they had not been hooke...

Hello! I'm also 30 and I've got Damon clears (on the top anyway - I've got metal Damons on the bottom).

I've had mine on for 2 weeks now and I think I'm noticing some changes but it's hard to say because I spend so much time looking it's like watching paint dry!

Good luck!

Hi! Just thought I'd drop by. I'm new too!! Fast approaching 40 and waiting for the final paperwork from my ortho and then can confirm my 'brace day". Hope things are going well now that you are almost a week into it?? Things are going well (2 weeks in now). Even my daughter isn't afraid of th...

if you have/had built up molars...

I have molar build ups because I have a deep bite and my top front teeth were hitting the brackets placed on my bottom teeth. Now that my teeth are starting to move, my top teeth are starting to rest on the bottom brackets again/hit when I chew. Is this something I should wait out for a few days to ...
