Re: Dos and Don'ts for Unbraced People Embracing Braced Peop

Don't tell me my facial structure has changed and that you liked it better the other way. My niece (who was lucky enough to have braces when she was a teenager) actually said this to me.

Of *course* my facial structure has changed: I have $#&*@! braces on my teeth!!!

Re: Braces at 50

Welcome Gennie, and congratulations, Loradora! I got braces at 55 so I hope I'll be saying the same thing you are when I'm 57: that I'm a week away from getting them off. I'm six months in now -- a ways to go but so far I'm thrilled with the progress!

Sorry -- I meant MyLittleTeeth and Chrystal. Bad short-term memory.

Re: Disappointing debanding after almost 3 years in braces

My heart goes out to you. :-( I like the advice Chrystal and Flaka gave -- to try to find a way to make this work. I'm shocked to hear that the treatment would cost so much more to finish the job. I'm going to hope for a positive outcome to all this -- after 3 years, you deserve one.

Re: A little advice from me to everybody.

Thanks for this advice! I know I'll need this done eventually, and was silently hoping I could do it sooner rather than later. Now I know to just cool my jets and wait. Thanks!

Re: Are the first 6 weeks....

I *thought* wasn't getting any movement my first six weeks and was quite dejected about it. Then I took a comparison photo and compared it to the one I took on day 1, and was very surprised to see that there indeed had been movement. I'd been watching so closely, I didn't even notice it! :-)

I'm constantly exploring all the prongs & wires with my tongue, to the point where I annoy myself. :-) When people say they've forgotten they have braces, I'm envious. I can't forget they're there at *all*.

Happy birthday! I love the concept of buying braces for onesself for Christmas or a birthday. As for me, I'm hoping my Christmas present this year will be that my left front tooth aligns with my right one. It's allllllmost there....

Hi Chrystal -- I don't know the answer to your question but thought I'd write anyway. All I know is that my teeth and whatever they're wrapped in are always hitting each other, so maybe it's just one of those braces things? But I'm sure the ortho's office would welcome a phone inquiry just to make s...

This is a timely question for me because I just got a kink in my archwire too, and was wondering what it was for. I have it right in the middle of my two front teeth, and didn't notice it until after I left the ortho's office so I didn't ask about it. Thanks for the info, everyone who's given some.
