They put mine in while I was under for impacted wisdom tooth removal so no I didn't feel it. it took a couple months for mine to act right as my bone is soft where they needed them placed. Re: overjet treatment can it work without teeth removed ?
I had a 5mm overjet and consulted with 2 orthos for treatment. One wanted to extract teeth and only gave me 1 option for treatment. The ortho I ended up with gave me 3 options for treatment with and without extractions. I of course chose the option the had no extractions, and cost the most. I had to...

Re: TAD's and NiTi springs, ugh!
Canker Covers saved my life when I had my TAD's installed. I swear I had ulcers the size of matzoh balls in side my cheeks. It took about 2 weeks for things to heal and toughen up, but now everything feels comfy. Well 'cept when a spring wire decided to embed itself in my gum. It felt like the worst...

Re: Canker cover (not just for canker sores)
LOVE these things! I can't recommend them enough, they are worth their weight in gold. Not only does it treat the sore, it provides a barrier to keep the sore from continually getting rubbed by the offending bracket, or in my case, TAD.

Re: Tad...tad ow!
I have 4 TAD's and the oral surgeon installed them when he removed an impacted wisdom tooth. I did not have a good experience with them being installed, and the first 3 weeks with them in were agony as my cheeks kind of folded around them when I closed my mouth and caused the biggest canker sores I'...

I had a HORRIBLE time with my TAD's, took almost 3 weeks to settle down. But yes it eventually gets better. Orabase is your friend. I also found these things called canker covers that saved my life, ok maybe I'm being a tad over dramatic, but seriously they were a god send. I got mine at CVS. Yhey w...

Hokay, so I got the canker covers and I feel sooo much better. I put them in last night and felt much better this morning, and less puffy too. My sores aren't completely gone, but they were HUGE so I imagine it'll take a bit for them to heal. Bonus that the canker covers kind of make a pad to keep t...

I had 4 TAD's installed yesterday and 1 impacted wisdom tooth extracted. I was not a happy camper and I cried like a baby. I had anesthesia, but it was that twilight stuff so I don't remember the wisdom tooth coming out but I do remember like 2 screws going in and 2 screws having to be redone. It hu...

I know it's more involved, cause well it requires specialized training and equipment I get that :D But at almost 3k an hour, it just made my eyes pop out of my head and feel a bit nauseous. I am a professional groomer and I am more expensive than a lot of my competitors, but I do try to explain to c...

Well apparently thee are no other options for me. My ortho doesn't install them and I've called like 5 or 6 other oral surgeons and none of them do them. Seems like a racket to me. I found a site that has the wholesale cost of TAD's and the most they cost is like $35. I understand equipment and trai...

Cost of TAD's?
Hi, I'm new here I just found this board yesterday. I wish I had found it a few months ago. Anywho, I got my brackets on just over a month ago and I am scheduled to get 4 TAD's installed soon. Sorry I don't know exactly all the conditions my mouth has, although I do know it includes crowding, crossb...
