I guess my little experience won't be that big of a deal. Nothing like pulling out a implant or cutting wires or elastics. I will have to ask my orthodontist about a bracket that was reglued on. It seems that isn't in the center of the tooth like the rest and I am worried the tooth won't rotate wher...

Well I need to get molar bands and also my orthodontist is 280 miles away. So it would be a waste of a trip just to go get spacers a week before braces. Don't worry I have already been trained how to do it.

Has anyone had to be there own orthodontist?

I just wanted to see if anyone ever had to be there own orthodontist. I get to have my chance in a month in half. Some claim it is the most painful procedure when having braces. That's right I will have to put in my own spacers for my lower braces. I will have to put in 4 altogether a week before I ...

I am actually able to think clearer with braces. I just past 8 certifications this month alone and I got braces September 10th. I kind of know what you mean by not thinking clearly. When I had TMJ, I seemed so out of it.

Hopefully everything is better when you have your braces off.

I lost a ligature. I am not sure how it happened and I haven't informed my orthodontist. I have an appointment in about two and a half weeks, so I might wait till then since the wire is still inside the bracket. No other updates, my teeth have seem to have moved a little. But I can't really see any ...

I would like to know about archwire shape, also. I wasn't able to find any information on why they use standard or natural shape archwires. It would be nice to hear the answer from a professional orthodontist on this one. I guess I'll have to look at my next wire and see what shape I am getting.

Since there are those indentations that are set by the orthodontist. So when you bite down your teeth only fit into those groves. So after a few weeks your bite will get adjusted there and your joint has time to heal. The new rick anator appliance is just like a bite plane. It is banded into the bac...

Well, I am guessing your talking about the Gelb splint. Since I haven't got the Rick anator appliance yet. The Gelb splint also called the Mora splint is used for people with Tempromandibular Joint Disorder. It has acrylic pads on both sides with indentations where your upper teeth will sit. It has ...

Thanks for all the nice comments MommaDucky... I am really excited to have braces again. They are so much nicer then they were 15 years ago. I have had really no pain with my teeth but I have smiled to much and made my cheeks a little raw. My orthodontist didn't seem to snip the wires as close as he...

I have updated my site again since I got braces. I wanted to know how your treatment is going. My orthodontist said I would need to also get a rick a nator. Have you had any problems? I am worried it will make me lisp so I am researching on any alternatives right now. I will also have to wear vertic...

I got top braces Monday!! They don't hurt as much as when I was younger or it might be that my orthodontist was nice to me at first. The splint was much harder getting use to and had a aching pain. So Friday I got spacers and wore them all weekend until Monday. Only a few fell out but I easily floss...

Thanks for the reply, I have been getting nervous about getting braces since it is only a few months away. It seems like your the only one with the same type of treatment. I am still looking forward to getting braces because that means I am just one step closer to completing my treatment. I wish I h...

Hi Meloho,

So are braces better then the splint? How is it with the elastics? I think I will be following your same type of treatment plan, in September. At least the elastics part, erupting the my molars. I am still kind of nervous.

Lithpinglitha, Your teeth are looking marvelous!! I too have a gelb splint except I have indentations where my teeth and jaw have to move into for my tmj. Have you received any additional information on what type of treatment will be next? All that I have received is that I will be getting upper bra...
