I am due to get my braces off in my. My ortho said that he will be giving me a set of Essix, for daytime wear, and Hawleys for night time.

Yes TPAs are used on adults. I had one placed to prevent my molars from migrating forward after having two premolars extracted. It did cause some expansion even though that is not what my ortho was trying to accomplish.

If you are at all concerned about the nickel in your braces, talk to your Ortho about it. There are nickel free brackets and wires. I have a nickel allergy and my Ortho was able to order special brackets for me.

I am also experiencing this. I did not do this before braces.

Yes! I thought I was alone. I have that feeling in a few of my lower teeth. Braces are not on the bottom yet, but I just had extractions done five days ago.

Thanks for all of the replies. I just have a little update. At my last appointment my Ortho took out my wire to give that tooth a break and see if it would tighten up, and it did. The tenderness was also gone after two or three days. I just had an x-Ray and my dentist said everything looks good. Hap...

Thanks for the response. I am hoping that I will eventual become happy with my in-ovation c's too. I have only had then on for four days, so they're still new to me. At this point they still feel a bit intrusive. Glad to hear about the staining, or lack there of.
