Re: Inman aligners
hi all, when I first got mine I was told to only drink water with it in - tea and coffee can stain it aparently (other people in the forum were also told if it is too hot is can melt it which I find hard to believe!) however as time went on I have drunk pretty much everything with it in. If it's dif...

Re: Inman aligners
hi all, just discovered I could be nearly there :) one tooth is being stubborn and needs a little rotating/pushing up but back to see my dentist in a week and he thinks that should be enough time for it to be finished. So fingers crossed in a week the composites come off and moulds are taken for som...

Re: Inman aligners
Dentist called today saying my IA was in. I go Monday to begin the process! I see soup and ice cream in my future. How long did it take you to be able to eat normally. Don't panic too much about not being able to eat. I did, bought loads of soup and custard etc, anything Ithought I would be able to...

Re: Inman aligners
Hi smiletime I don't know specifics but it sounds like he's talking about invislign (or similar) if you want to google it. I hope you won't have to pay for it- I believe that's between you and your dentist buthaving said that you've paid for something he hasn't delivered so I don't think you should ...

Re: Inman aligners
suicidetheory- I can see why you're devastated! I would be too!! See what your contract says, maybe it has a clause in or just says something about straight teeth? I don't see why you should have to pay for it if it broke! they're pretty robust so must have been faulty!! maybe also get intouch with ...

Re: Inman aligners
Hi Tigger, I can't help re tongue stud I'm afraid - although the bar that doesn't move on the IA may get in the way/hopefully it won't get caught underneath it.... see what your dentist thinks. I wouldn't eat with the IA in. The reason I say this is because there are places food can get in which you...

Re: Inman aligners
I felt like that too until I started to see movement- then was quite glad about the no pain. when you say pictures at a family wedding, are they far away? the ones I'm looking at are closeups and that's the only way you'll see movement unless it's dramatic...

Re: Inman aligners
I haven't either! I wasasked yesterday if I felt the pressure on the tooth in the same way as previously and I said 'I guess but I haven't reallyfelt any pressure'. I find it fascinating that teeth can move so much and so quickly (and I realise this isn't the case with you but hopefully it will) wit...

Re: Inman aligners
smiletime: one more thing to check (and maybe worth a phonecall to dentist tofind out),make sure you're wearing it correctly. Mine didn't do much at the start and it turnsout I had the bar below the 'button' he had put on my teeth when it should have been above (he didn't show me properly at first)....

Re: Inman aligners
smiletime: yeah I know -8 weeks is a long time when the average is 12weeks and I'm nearly that far in now! to begin with I saw my dentist every 4 weeks, until things went wrong when he wanted to keep a better eye on me so moved to two (but bear in mind he's only local to me every 2 weeks so there ne...

Re: Inman aligners
hi smiletime, don't stress too much over howlong it should take(i.e. not everyone is finished in 12 weeks) but it does seems strange nothing has changed.Definitely worth talking to your dentist about why. My dentist moves the 'button' he has attached to my teeth to hold it in place when it stopsmovi...

Re: Inman aligners
Hi Tigger, I didn't even know that colour was an option. Mine are clear. To be honest, not sure I'd go for it even if it had been an option - the least noticeable it is the better in my eyes (not that you get away from people noticing, but not drawing more attention to it). I had to wait quite a whi...
