Re: Changing Archwire
Thanks lilone, That has made me feel loads better, I knew I was progressing well as my ortho keeps saying they have moved "a ridiculous amount". Here's hoping they keep moving but i'm starting to be pretty happy with them now, they definitely are much better than they were already, hopeful...

Changing Archwire
Hi guys, I saw my Ortho on Friday and he mentioned at my next visit he would change my wire, what is the purpose of this? Does it hurt to get the whole wire changed? I'm hoping it's a sign of progress as he seems to keep saying my teeth are moving very quickly, how many wires does an average treatme...

Re: Fears of Lingual?? Don't worry
Jaffa, I couldn't agree more, my teeth are starting to get used to biting but as my top arch was quite crowded there is still a bit of movement needed so until this settles I doubt it will be painfree. The movement is incredible though my rotated canine and lateral incisor on my right side are almos...

Fears of Lingual?? Don't worry
Hello guys, I've posted a similar topic before but i'm now 2 months in and honestly I can't believe how easy the Linguals have been. Don't get me wrong the first few weeks are a little tough on speech but I found that was a conscious thing, I still lisp every now and then but don't care. I recently ...

Re: ahhh I don't know if i've broken my wire!!!!!
I couldn't see it, by definitely felt the ping and change in pressure.
I'd just get it checked if I was you, noticed any movement yet?

Re: ahhh I don't know if i've broken my wire!!!!!
Lulu, I had the exact same incident right after I got mine fitted if you remember, mine pinged twice and it was broken. So I would guess yours in broken too, but like Shysmile said it's a 2 minute job to fix so don't worry. How are you finding chewing? I'm ok with my back molars but front teeth cann...

Re: LOVING MY LINGUAL SO FAR!!!!
Lulu, So glad you've adapted now, I knew you would. I haven't been on in a while as i've literally forgot my braces are on. Linguals are simply the best thing i've ever done. Since I had my extractions the movement is crazy, my top teeth are close to straight, my bottom arch was pretty straight anyw...

Re: POKEY WIRE!!!
Hi Jessica, Happy Christmas to you too, To be honest, i'm very happy with my linguals already. I can't imagine getting to that point of not thinking about them but i'm sure it will come, my main issues now seem to be whenever I go out drinking like yesterday, the day after my mouth is so sore and se...

Re: POKEY WIRE!!!
Hi Lulu, I've had it on for just over a month I'm 100% used to the linguals, they don't really bother me apart from the tiny pokey wire but my daily routine is to brush then put a touch of wax over it and away I go. The powerchain pain is dying down too, so they just feel normal now. I doubt I'll ev...

Re: POKEY WIRE!!!
Lulu, I know your pain, i've been dealing with this for a while I even had it trimmed yesterday but my teeth seem to have moved again overnight and now it catches, I just get by with the tiniest bit of wax on there daily. Don't worry about the speech it will return, as you know, I have a very small ...

Actually on closer inspection it looks like a powerchain, probably explains the pain!

Re: Upper Linguals & Lower Ceramics - Day one
Ok so first adjustment down, wow the pain! I had 1 elastic fitted to pull my canine backwards, and it feels like the force being used is much greater than the force generated by the brace itself. Also had my tooth next to my extraction "built up" which now means I don't look like a hillbil...

Re: Upper Linguals & Lower Ceramics - Day one
Just a quick update, First adjustment on Thursday, snow is terrible but i'll make it even if I have to walk. My extractions have given me zero pain and seem to be over the initial healing period, now I'm hoping to see some real movement. I'm pretty sure my canine has started to rotate correctly and ...

Re: Upper Linguals & Lower Ceramics - Day one
LuLu, I'm so sorry to hear, I was dreading that too but I was fortunate. What happens if they leave it, does your body just get rid of it over time? Hope everything is ok for you, not long until you get your wire in now then the journey begins. I think the wire will make things more comfortable for ...

Re: Upper Linguals & Lower Ceramics - Day one
Just a further update, I had my two upper extractions today. I'm not sure I should say this but it was actually "pleasurable" compared to what I was expecting. Both popped out within a few seconds of being pulled and away I went. Really hoping now the space has been created my teeth will f...
