Re: November Buddies

either the swelling is coming down or i'm getting used to how my nose looks because it doesn't seem as wide/pointy as i think it was... as for opening my jaw, I can open it up probably about an inch or so... even so, its been difficult to eat, so I can't imagine only being able to open it 2mm. sorry...

Re: cheeks

Thanks for your response! I actually really don't know what I mean, but asking my surgeon for details or for the operative report is a great idea. And I hope you're right about the swelling... I would love to see the cheeks come down some more. Thanks again, this 4-6 week post-op period has been so ...

cheeks

Wondering if anyone here had their cheeks "filled in" a little during surgery? My surgeon suggested this because he said I had flat cheeks and I agreed to make it happen because I didn't think it wouldn't make a huge difference in my appearance. Now, 6 weeks post-op, I'm regretting my deci...

Re: feeling down

Badbite, thanks for your reply, too. It's so helpful to know I'm not alone!! I guess it's easy to wonder and assume the worst sometimes. I am just anxious for the swelling to go down and my bite to be perfected. I see my ortho for the first time post-op on Monday and cannot wait to hear what he'll s...

Re: feeling down

Thanks, Schwin -- you must have had your surgery a week after I had mine. I know I am probably my own worst critic when I look in the mirror... hopefully in time I'll become more comfortable with the new look. Sigh. :( I miss my asian food, steak, chips, and burgers too. Surgeon said I could start c...

feeling down

I just found this site a couple of nights ago... I'm now 5-6 weeks post op and feeling really down. I know the post-op blues are quite normal, but most people seem to be somewhat happy with their new bites and have most of their swelling gone by this time. I had double jaw surgery for an underbite. ...

Re: November Buddies

Glad to hear it has gone away for the most part! Mine will, too, hopefully in a few weeks!

Re: November Buddies

Hi everyone, I just found this site and this is my first post :D . I had my surgery on Nov 22 (upper moved forward 3mm, lower moved back 3mm) and still have some swelling, especially near the incision areas. I actually was wondering the same thing Rodney008 brought up -- wondering when those incisio...
