Debanded while Pregnant

I wanted to post this question to "Ask the Docs", but I don't see it any more. Basically, I just got my debanding appointment set, and on that date I will be 6-7 months pregnant. Does it seem like there would be any issues with this? It can't be done any sooner... I would really love to ha...

Elastics - Nearing End?

Hi. I just finally got my first elastic / rubberband. I'm hoping this means I'm nearing the end of my treatment.

So, my question is, how long after you got your first elastic / rubberband, did your orthodontic treatment end (or is predicted to end)?

Update - I had the screw removed months ago... no big deal. It's now been 12 months since the start of my treatment, and that molar is in the right place now. :-)

I did... having the screw put in was by far the easiest part of the whole process...

Here's my original post about it.

How far into treatment did you get an expander?

I remember at my consultation, my ortho mentioned an expander. I've been wearing braces for almost a year now, and he's never mentioned it again. Just wondering, if it was something I was going to need, would he have already put one in by now, or could it be yet to come?

Well... I had it done... and it wasn't as bad as I thought. He put that stuff stuff on the gums first to numb it a little. Then he did some shots of what I assume were novacaine. Then he just started cutting away. It just sounded like he was scratching on my brackets... which is what I thought he wa...

Gum Removal - Gingivectomy

I have a molar that has had to move a long way. In the process, it has moved my gums with it. I now have a bunch-up of gums and have to see a periodontist for a Gingivectomy. Anyone ever had this? How did it go?

Nice pics! I had 2 implants between my rear two molars at the top, attached to the canines to bring them back after the two first premolars were removed. Will try to get pictures as well. Just an FYI - had the screws removed last week and they don't use anaesthetic, they literally just unscrew it. ...

Quick question that might not be so quick. Why didn't you pull that tooth and have a dental implant installed in its proper place? Just seems to me like getting that tooth in the right place is going to take a while and that mini implant is pretty invansive. That was an option, but the mini implant...

Well, guess I forgot to tell you how it went. I went back in the room, and right before he was about to start, I almost lost it. I overheard the oral surgeon on the phone with my orthodontist discussing placement and I started feeling like no one knew what they were doing. I felt like I was a test s...

Wow, that's really reassuring! Question: When you say " no pain ", what exactly does that mean? I've always been a self-proclaimed wimp, but am slowly trying to build up my pain threshold. I used to hate going to the dentist because I would be wincing so much and holding my breath; the den...

Thanks for responding. I just heard back from the oral surgeon yesterday. He doesn't think there is enough space to put the screw where the orthodontists wanted to put it. So, the oral surgeon wants to put it it my palate somewhere behind my incisor I think. He mentioned that since it goes in the pa...

Surprised

I'm surprised nobody has had this.

Here's a link to one of the manufacturers.

mini implant / micro implant / screws

After many years of debate, I have finally decided to get braces. My ortho wants me to get a mini implant installed. Basically from what I understand, is it's like a tiny screw that he will use has an anchor to move a tooth that is totally out of alignment. It's a way to pull the molar forward witho...
