well i'm sure you could demand to have them off, but your teeth will most likely look awful pretty quickly.

Hey, sorry to hear about the breakup with your boyfriend. I broke up with my boyfriend of two years a few weeks before Christmas. It was rough, but we remained friends. i haven't had too much of an issue with guys not liking me due to braces. i still get some guys interested in me. i mainly feel sel...

I never had problems kissing my ex. He was afraid he'd cut himself at first, but got over that after he realized they're not sharp at all.

oh, i never saw this thread.

yeah, i'm gay in braces; however, i'm only 20, so i guess it's not that uncommon for someone my age to be in braces.

I had this problem, and my orthodontist gave me a bite plate (it's like a retainer but prevents you from biting down all the way) until my bite was where it was supposed to be.

I'm 20 in college, and it isn't a big deal. I just make fun of myself for having them now as opposed to when I was 13 like a normal person.

my ortho isn't giving me a choice. i won't get my implant until i'm completely done wearing my retainer. my retainer will just have a fake tooth attached so that i won't have a gap in my smile.

my braces cost me $5000, and my implant will be $5000. insurance covers none of it. i'm not getting my implant in during braces though, which i guess i'm kind of glad about. with me, i'm in braces for two years to create the gap. i then wear a retainer for two years with a bonded fake tooth attached...

Hey Lucy, It is missing - It doesn't appear in x-rays, a hereditary thing so I'm told. I actually just found out that one of my wisdom teeth is the same way. That doesn't make me feel any better! I'm preparing myself for surgery. (implant) I think that may be the best route. I'm really going to hav...

i also have a missing lateral, but you got lucky. you didn't have a gap in your two front teeth from it. i'm getting an implant put in when i'm done wearing my retainer after two years. my orthodontist made it sound like it's not a big deal, it just costs $5000, yay.

I'll be 21, just short of 22, assuming they come off May 2007.

Re: delegation

If at each visit the doc is satisfied w/ your progress I'd say all is okay. If he started to really wonder what is going on, he'll catch it that maybe your asst has botched somtething. Your teeth will not move any faster with someone else. Provided that the correct stuff is being done. I personally...

i assume it probably has to do with the acidity of ethanol. since ethanol is an alkane alcohol, and since alkane alcohols contain an -OH group, it's an acid (because it's able to donate a hydrogen ion). it's one of the stronger acids of the alkane alcohols because it has such a small hydrocarbon cha...
