I agree with the previous poster, your teeth look like they bite together well, with perhaps a bit of a deep bite. I think your chin looks fine as well but its hard to tell from the pic.

I think its a good idea to discuss your concerns with the ortho who suggested braces. I think the hard part in making this kind of decision is that you don't know exactly what your teeth will look like afterwards. Some people have both. I will have top and bottom permanent retainers, plus removable. I think the main disadvantage to permanent retainers is that is it more difficult to floss with them in.

I think your teeth look great, both before and after (but obviously better after). I do see what you are talking about though, particularly with your left side. It looks class II while the right side is class I. It's something I would bring up, maybe there is a reason he left it like that.
