Re: Spanish one got braced at 37 :)

Hello! I got braces 7 days ago, and I'm not having any pain at all. I'm wearing Damon Q braces that are fully metallic, fully bright and fully visible  Anyway, I'm so happy to have braces on, I have been waiting a long time to try to get a nicer smile, as I have some gaps between teeth :Ga...

Re: Ouch; eating after install!

I'm thankfully at the point where I don't need the wax as badly; I'm even sleeping at night without it.

I feel a slight soreness all the time, but I figure that's due to the teeth shifting.

Re: Favorite no no foods?

Honestly, I don't eat a lot of the food that's on the Not Allowed List.

I gave up candy bars, though; that alone has helped me drop a couple of pounds.

Re: Ouch; eating after install!

I started using wax today lol. I went back to work and my job is customer service and all the talking I was doing on the phones was just causing craziness in my mouth so I gave up and put some wax in several spots and pushed through the rest of the day. It does seem to help me alot when I drink wat...

Re: Newbie (with braces and this forum)

Hi, I have SL braces on the top with estimated treatment time of 12-14m. Haven't had any extractions (and don't have molar bands for some reason) but things are already moving. Don't know how to put pics on but I do have a blog that I think is linked at the bottom. I think that my treatment time is...

Re: Ouch; eating after install!

Today was my first "real" meal. I had mashed potatoes, tri-tip (steak), and salad. I did manage to eat the steak better than I thought I would be able to. I just had to cut it into really small bites. I'm still rather discouraged about eating though. I really dislike the fact that every s...

Re: Ouch; eating after install!

Well, Silverlightstar, since you asked I'll level with you. I'm happy with how my teeth have been progressing but I am getting sick and tired of having to use wax. In my case I have appliance tubes which jut out from my upper rear 2nd molars. Down the road I'll have the Forsus appliance. Google *th...

Re: Ouch; eating after install!

I'm on day three of having braces put on bottom and top and I find myself skipping meals. I just don't want to deal with the pain of trying to chew and the cleaning part afterward. If I do have to eat then I do soup and I tried a grilled cheese but the cheese kept getting stuck on the brackets so I...

Re: Ouch; eating after install!

Eating gets easier fer sure. Considering that you're just been braced and are out at a restaurant is a very good sign. I totally laid low for the first week. For the first "x" number of days after getting adjustments it will be difficult to eat things such as fries. Also, your front teeth...

Re: Ouch; eating after install!

[quote="drgnchsr36"]It does get easier!! But, I think it comes and goes. I still eat soups, but I've also enjoyed cheeseburgers, fries, and some other food (one that's on the no no list.. but I can't help myself..and my brackets haven't popped off yet). Take it easy though until you feel c...

Re: Newbie (with braces and this forum)

[quote="Lanna"]Hello! I also have the self litigating braces. The uncomfortable-ness does go away and eventually you'll get to the point where you might even forget you have them sometimes. If not for the frequent tooth brushing and having to swish with water after eating. My treatme...

Ouch; eating after install!

Today is Day 2 and I'm having trouble eating. Everything. Hurts. I even went easy and ordered grilled fish (By the way, it was quite delicious, even though I was having trouble chewing.), chowder and fries. I could barely eat the fries, but I was able to swallow the fish and chowder. Please te...

Re: Newbie (with braces and this forum)

As far as I know, I won't have surgery; my wisdom teeth were taken out at least three years ago, so that leaves some space for everything to move.

Thanks for the welcome! :D

Re: What was your first meal/food after braces?

Vegetable korma; I had to fight the weird feeling to rush to the bathroom to clean my teeth while eating!

That and it was soft enough that it didn't kill me.

Re: Newbie (with braces and this forum)

(Since I'm not able to edit my post)

I do have a question: For those that have quick treatments (10 months at most), how has your smile changed and was the treatment quicker than the orthodontist thought?
