I had lower advancement (10 mm) 1 year ago at age 56. The ortho said I would be in braces for one year before and one year after surgery, so I am (impatiently) waiting for the end of this journey. Good luck to you and to all of us who are getting new smiles and profiles. :lol:

As a professor, I have always felt that my students with braces were doing something to make themselves look more professional, and I never found that it made them look younger, less serious, or less professional. Now that I am 55 and have braces myself, I admire my students who are able to study an...

I am 55 and have had my braces for 7 months now. When I was a teenager, only a handful of my friends had braces-- I sure wish I would have done it back then!
