I wanted ceramic on the top & bottom. My orthodontist suggested just the top. So I took his advice. Upper teeth are ceramic and the bottom are metal :)

I have only had my braces on one day, but I'm sure I will be looking in the mirror every chance I get until these babies come off!!

I was told 24-30 months. Seems like eternity..I hope it flies by!! I have an impacted canine though, so I suppose my braced time could change.

It's good to hear your success. It makes me look forward to mine! My orthodontist said I should see changes immediately...I'm soooo excited! I believe this is the best thing I've ever done for myself too.

I'm in the club as well!! I am glad to see I'm not the only one. I was super nervous when my orthodontist told me I had an impacted canine. I just got braced today, so I will not have the surgery until about 6 months from now. I hope everything goes smoothly...fingers crossed! Good luck to everyone!!!

Hi anxiousgirl! I was glad to read your post. I JUST got braced :tingrin: today and will stay that way for 24-30 months!! I've been having the same feelings. Life without sweets is going to be difficult. Good luck with the pain...try eating cooked chicken...its soft but still solid, so you feel full...
