Re: Detached Wire
Hi Johnny Eating is a new experience. I eat to survive not to enjoy. Glad your are calling the Ortho tomorrow. At this time I have a lower bite plate that feels like I have flat ceramic teeth on the bottom. Very hard to chew. After 6 months the bite plate comes out and bottom brackets go on. Thank g...

Re: Detached Wire
Hi Johnny,
If I were you, I would call your Ortho tomorrow. Better safe than sorry. Straighting teeth is a real science. They should not charge you for the visit. I am new to braces too. Almost one month for me and I am not a young person. Hang in there.

Re: Newbie
Hi Web. Well good for you! I am 50 and just received braces for the first time 2 1/2 weeks ago. I have ceramic on the top and a lower bite plate for 6 months. I was told that the staining can be from red wine (which I love), blueberries, yellow curry and tomato sauce. So far no staining. I have not ...

Re: 3 hours in!
Good for you Rae. How did you sleep for the first night? I had trouble a few nights. It has been 2 1/2 weeks since I had my braces put on. Use dental wax for the scratching in your mouth. Putting wax on your brackets will help until your mouth gets use to the braces. Our bodies are quite adaptabe bu...

Re: Lower Bite Plate
Thanks for your support. Just came from the Ortho and he adjusted it for me. I think it will be much better after the pain subsides. The plate is removable only to brush. It will be in for about 6 months. This bite plate covers the entire bottom teeth and you only see the bottom front. Have a good w...

Lower Bite Plate
Hi I am new here to this site and would like some encouragement. I just turned 50 (wow, I am old). Top braces were put on Feb. 18, 2011 and a lower removable bite plate. The braces are fine but the plate is a killer. It's been 5 days and I lost 2 pounds. Eating is not easy task! It feels as if I hav...
