I have several crowns. All of my molars are crowned. I didn't have to have any replaced after braces. Good luck to you.

I guess he must be an exceptional case - although in the UK, I never even heard of a 5 year old getting X-rays and a cleaning, let alone orthodontics. :? Here in the US most kids go to the dentist for their first cleaning around 3 yrs. old. For a couple of reasons. One, to get them use to the denti...

Thanks all. I mentioned it to my Ortho at my first retainer check up. He said if the space doesn't close up by my next appointment, Aug 1st. then he will cut off the last molar on my Essix. The band space is still there and VERY irritating. I went to my dentist for a cleaning 2 weeks ago and he foun...

3? Uh you don't even have all your teeth at 3. No ortho in their right mind would put braces on a child at the age of three.

I wont actually be ruining good teeth for the bridge. The teeth on each side of the space already have crowns so not a big deal on that front. I have a mouth full of crowns. I got them when dental insurance use to be good. You know the progressive coverage kind first year they covered 70% second 80%...

$82 dollars for a crown?! WOW that is cheap. You have good insurance. One crown costs me $370 insurance only pays 50% the $370 is what I pay after insurance. I need a bridge that means I need 3 crowns! Insurance wont even pay for an implant so I have to get a bridge. It's cheaper than an implant but...

Do you have brackets the require ligs (bands)? Some brackets are don't need the ligs so therefore no colors. I had Damon's they don't need ligs so I never got to have any colors :(
If you have brackets that need ligs just ask, they may have assumed you didn't want any color.

I do brush it but I don't use anything other than water. I soak it in Crest Pro Health during the day (I only wear it at night) and 2 times a week I soak it in a denture cleaner. Seems to be keeping it nice and clean.

Hmm my ortho said not to soak in mouthwash with alcohol. I have an essix retainer and have not soaked it in anything but non-alcohol mouthwashes or a denture cleaner. It still looks like new.

I had molar bands simply because I have crowns on all of my molars. The glue for the brackets don't last long or at all on crowns so bands are necessary.

It verys from ortho to ortho. I have an Essix on the top. I wore it 24/7, taking it out to eat and brush, for a month. I had my retainer check on Monday and was told I could wear it at night time from now on. I have a hawley on the bottom and have to wear it all the time until I am able to get a bri...

Don't use Crest Pro-Health. It doesn't stain but does leave little blue (or green depending on the flavor) specks of stuff that is hard to get out of the braces.

Mine is actually smaller than an actual tooth. It doesn't not touch the gum line at all. It gradually slops down to the red color of the retainer. It still manages to hold the space tho'.

Are you asking about the 'tooth' part? Is so...it is flat on top (biting surface) and rounded on the bottom. It is a bit visible when I open my mouth but unless you know it is part of the retainer I don't think anyone notices. Once I get the bridge done I will get a bonded retainer. But that is goin...

Okay here is the picture I promised. It is not a very good picture but you get the idea. The 'tooth' is actually the acrylic of the retainer brought up to form a 'tooth' and is colored as such. It will hold the space until you are able to get a bridge or implant. I will be getting a bridge but proba...
