I had a terrible lisp when I got my palette expander put in. My 6 year old daughter and I laughed all the way home. My family, friends and myself have all had a hell of a good laugh about it too :lol: When I would get excited and start talking fast, it was really enhanced. It will get better though!...

I actually had the opposite problem. I had really sensitive teeth before braces. When I got braces, my ortho gave me an electric toothbrush. It was hard to use at first on those sensitive spots, but I pushed through and now, 5 months into it, I have to say my teeth are not nearly as sensitive anymor...

Your teeth look great! Makes it all worthwhile, eh? I love seeing before and after pictures. Take it from a 2nd timer...do wear your retainers faithfully!

Ok, I've had this thing in for about 18 days and I wanted to give an update. Things are much better!!! Hurray! It took up until about day 13 before the tongue pain went away. It was biting into my cheek for a few weeks too, but wax helped that and now it's totally fine. The lisp lasted about a week....
