Re: Anyone has 'tooth coloured' Ligs on ceramics?

It will get better over time. Took me about a month to get used to having them on and I am 43. Also for the color of the ligs, ask for obscure, they work well with the color of the ceramics and will be resistant to staining. But you still have to avoid things like curry, mustard, red wine because th...

Re: Starting to notice everyone's teeth!

Me too, and I've also been noticing actors' teeth. It's surprising how many of them have not-so-great teeth. If I were rich and my job was to have my mug on camera, straight teeth would be a top priority. I wonder if they don't get braces because of how they'd look and it would interfere with getti...

Re: Clicking of back tooth

Yeah, there's no pain, it's just a really strange feeling. It feels like half of the tooth is moving, like it should be cracked or something, but it looks fine. I also hear a strange noise in my head when it happens too. This is different from the regular "clicking" feeling of movement of ...

Re: Biting inside of cheek at night..

Ask your ortho for a mouth guard. I have a habit of pressing my hand to my cheek at night and my ortho gave me a sports mouth guard to wear at night. That should help. But do not get one of the ones in the store that you put in water to mold to the shape of your mouth, since your bite is changing an...

Clicking of back tooth

I have had a strange clicking/snapping feeling to one of my back teeth. It almost feels like half of the tooth is moving and not the whole thing. This is not a feeling that I have had since I got braced in March. I don't know if I should be concerned or not. Thought or comments would be appreciated.

Loose Lig?!

I think that I have a loose lig on the tooth behind my canine tooth. I noticed it last night during clean up after dinner. The only thing is, I don't know if it just happened or if it has been that way since I got braces a week ago! I just changed part of my clean up routine and have a mirror that i...

Re: Just got braced

I just got my braces this week too and am having trouble getting to the back teeth with the threader. Flossing has certainly become a huge pain in the butt since getting braced! But unfortunately, we need to keep working at it. A waterpick is great for getting stuff out from between the braces and g...

Re: Just got home from installation!

I certainly hope that you are right Jambo! I even had a difficult time yesterday eating Mac & Cheese! All I am basically doing is pushing my food against the inside of my teeth with my tongue and swallowing. Trying to chew is not only painful, but pointless since the teeth don't touch except in ...

Re: Sleeping/touching face at night

Problem take care of by Orthos office yesterday! They gave me a mouth guard like kids in sports use and is having me sleep in that. It isn't the most comfortable things in the world since you can't close your mouth completely, but it is better than tearing up my mouth in my sleep! :jump: :jump:

Just got home from installation!

Just got my braces on today! Certainly feels strange to have these things on. Not sure how this is going to go as of right now. My mouth certainly feels strange with all this stuff in it! Ortho had to put a temporary build up on two of my back molars so that my two front teeth don't hit my brackets ...

Re: Sleeping/touching face at night

I have thought about trying those, my husband uses them all the time. The only issue with that is that my skin is very sensitive to adhesives and wearing a bandage for more than a couple of days leaves me with sores where the adhesive was :-( So I am not so sure if I want to have my nose tore up, wh...

Re: Last meals before braces...

Thankfully, my ortho not only allows but encourages gum! He says that it helpsbto reduce pain and to strenghten the jaw during the whole process. But I have certainly been enjoying any "sticky" favorite that I can think of this week. I figure that braces are going to be a good diet plan fo...

Re: Sleeping/touching face at night

I do have a deviated septum, I know this from when they needed to put a tube down my nose into my stomach for some tests once. The left side of my nasal passages is so narrow that it couldn't even make it up and over the arch of the nose. So I know that is at least part of the problem. But it is som...

Sleeping/touching face at night

I am wondering if anyone else out there has any breathing issues that cause them to touch their faces in their sleep? I have difficulty breathing out of the left side of my nose and tend to press my hand to my cheeck when I sleep to aid in breathing. I fear that when I get my braces on Thursday that...

Re: Last meals before braces...

Grillz, I am sorry that your mouth is all torn up and I hope that it gets better soon! :soremouth: Hopefully I won't have any issues like that, but knowing my luck I will. :-+

We are at T minus 5 1/2 days to I get braced! Just chowed down on the last Friday night pizza crust for a while.
