Re: Putting Elastic Bands back on

I called the hospital and they told me to come in the next day. Turns out my lower jaw muscles were trying to pull my jaw back into its original position :? So I got more elastics put in and its fine now thankfully.

So glad I went to the hospital and didn't just leave it.

The doctor put these on for me and I was told I could take these out to eat so I did just that today. After struggling for q...

Voice Changes

Hi, I am currently waiting to get double jaw surgery for my underbite. I sing and play the guitar and can sing okay but I feel like I can't project my voice very well and I'm hoping that when I get the surgery I will be able to sing louder and clearer than before. I was wondering if any one who has ...

Re: Did you have an easier time of talking after the surgery

I have an under bite and braces, I feel like I can't project my voice very well and this makes it harder to speak in discussions with a group of people or in pubs/clubs and makes it easier for people to talk over you. This, combined with the fact that I would be a little bit self conscious about my ...

Re: Nervous about wisdom teeth, pre double jaw surgery

I got six teeth removed including wisdom teeth in preparation for double jaw surgery. I was nervous also in the build up to it, but I can honestly say it wasn't nearly as bad as I'd imagined. Its the whole build up to the surgery that is scary. Once you get put under it will all be over without you ...

Re: SARPE Surgery

Hi Was just wondering if I might need SARPE surgery. How narrow does your palate have to be to need this surgery? I cant lay my tongue comfortably on the roof of my mouth if you know what I mean? I have braces on at the minute for double jaw surgery will they improve it? Would really appreciate if a...

Re: NHS vs Private

[quote="luke88"]I have been surgery ready since June 2010 and will be having my operation in May 2011, 11 month wait. It has been very frustrating and my whole process has actually. I waited nearly 5 years to get started with my treatment, months waiting for SARPE and huge gaps between my ...

Re: NHS vs Private

Thanks for the replies :) I will be ready for surgery in 2 to 3 months as i still have two gaps to close. Would it be worth the money to go private? Ive heard stories of people having to wait like a year and a half when they are already surgery ready on the NHS and with cutbacks and that in the Heal...
