Re: Wire around Bracket

I've had wire ties on several of my front teeth over my treatment. My understanding is that they hold the bracket against the archwire more than a lig can. I usually have a power chain over that.

Re: Midline is off, ortho wants to leave it.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not really looking to spend 2 yrs in braces, my issues weren't very severe to begin with. I had gaps in the front 6 teeth, likely due to tongue thrust. My bite wasn't off. Things did shift a bit of course, but they seem back where he wants them. I guess what I'm asking is i...

Midline is off, ortho wants to leave it.

So, I am at the end of my treatment  However, my midline is off. When I brought this up at the ortho, he said that yes, it's off, but that he doesn't want to try to correct it. His reason is that he says my bite right now is really good, and that correcting the midline by moving the teeth wou...

Re: Angry ram?

I got elastics for the first time and oh boy do they hurt. I have Unicorns. They must be magic because I'm told I'll only wear them for one week. I have to loop it on my bottom first premolar, up and over the upper canine, and down on o the lower canine. It's awful, I basically can't open my mouth. ...

Re: Can't get loose bracket fixed for weeks!

That's a good question. I don't know. I will call them when I'm away and ask. There's nothing on the website about "emergency" coverage but it does mention an answering service when the office is closed.

Can't get loose bracket fixed for weeks!

Ugh! I just noticed that I have a loose bracket - the same one that came off and was repaired a few weeks ago. It's wiggly and clicks when I bite down. Trouble is, the office is closed Fridays, and I leave for a week Sat. When I get back, the office is closed for their vacation and then I am on anot...

Re: My new braces

Welcome Mareesey!

Hooray for getting started! Floss getting stuck is so, so annoying. I've tried using the pokey end and going between the teeth at the gumline, rather than in from the edge, if that makes sense.

Re: TinkB's Story

There's definitely progress going on! Your upper arch is really smoothing out and those bottom teeth are getting more even. I bet they wire in the one that's tipped back at your adjustment.

Re: Threescompany's (hopefully short) braces journey

Well, I went to get the bracket replaced today. Since they had to take all the gear off to do that, and my adjustment was scheduled for next week, I got the "why don't we just do it all now" deal. So, new wires top and bottom, wire ties on upper two central, power chains top and bo...

Re: Threescompany's (hopefully short) braces journey

Thanks! Yeah, I figure that they are all loose anyway, so even if it shifts a bit, it should quickly fall back in line. It's a good chance to ask about another one that looks like it's coming loose.

My teeth are randomly sore today. :?

Re: Threescompany's (hopefully short) braces journey

Noticed a bracket has come off. Of course, I noticed it Friday and the office is closed. Hopefully they can fit me in tomorrow but I am in a workshop so have limited time. Is it a huge deal to have a bracket not attached to the tooth for a few days? It's my second premolar, so the next to last...

Re: Threescompany's (hopefully short) braces journey

Feeling generally happy about my teeth are coming along. I can tell, however, that my right side is different than the left. The upper teeth are dropped more, I think. It just seems like they meet together sooner on that side. Also, all the extra wire and elastic ties are making it nearly impossible...

Re: Threescompany's (hopefully short) braces journey

Had my third adjustment this morning. OMG  my teeth hurt! Today my ortho began removing the bonding between my front teeth. Not a ton, but I can notice a difference. Then they chained me back up, put on another elastic tie, but when I bit down, the first thing that touched was my front teeth....

Re: All adjustments from the right?

I'm certain it has to do with handedness, but I've definitely wondered about it. When I look at my powerchain, you can really tell it was put on from the right side. As in, attatched to each bracket and then tugged to the right for the next one. Each loop is stretched ever so slightly to the right. ...
