You will be surprised that you chew but mostly the food gets swallowed whole. I could not bite with my front teeth for at least 6 months. My teeth were senitive. It does get better.
The more you eat the better you will become use to what you can and can not chew.

I'm also looking at getting debraced after 15 months of treatment. Which will be sometime in August. Can't wait. At the moment, my teeth look good, but there is one area that has a "black triangle". Not sure what I'm going to do about that.

Call your Ortho as often has you need to. You are paying them for a service and you need to get that service.

Visits do get tolerable as time goes by.. I've been braced since May 2010 and each visit gets a little easier. My teeth do get sensitive, but it goes away within a couple of days.
