Re: Bite
I'm wondering this to. Got my braces off a few days ago, Yay! was wearing triangular configuration on the right side up to deband day, wearing my horrible retainer religously, it's pissing off my tounge, and the bite is a little off. I go back in a month for my final x-rays etc, but I told him to be...

Re: Removing brackets
I'm getting mine off in 6 weeks, first christmas present this year, glad to hear it doesn't hurt too much. I just had my last appt a few days ago and my teeth still feel a little loose(kinda like they aren't quite seated-might be the last powerchain) so I'm hoping that goes away in the next few week...

one year anniversary, and frustrated
So I just passed my one year anniversary with these bloody braces and I feel like I've had little improvement. They are on for an incorrect bite and aside from the side that my teeth meet switching sides I have what feels like no improvement, eating is still a giant pain in the ass. How long till ev...

Re: Yawning pain and worsening bite
I have the teeth clashing when I talk as well as great deal of jaw pain, everyone looks at me funny because when my teeth hit I usually curse out loud cause it hurts like hell, but I find after each adjustment it gets worse and then eases of after a week or two. If the teeth clashing gets bad I trie...

Re: How long does pain last with elastics?
my elastics are currently attached to a crowned back molar. I had a scare a week ago that the crown had come loose from the pressure but the ortho said it wasn't loose. The tooth itself gets wiggly as the day goes on with the elastics and the margins of the crown irritate the gumline when that happe...

Re: How long does pain last with elastics?
My ortho told me to work my way up to 24/7 but I find I clench worse with the elastics on and wake up every few hours in pain till around 4am when i get mad and take them off and go back to sleep. I seem to have developed a little problem though. my elastics go from back molar to canine, and one of ...

Re: Teeth grinding now (only in my sleep) because of my brac
I had found a great night guard that worked great with my braces right up until I got my elastics a month ago and with the configuration canine to back molar(ouch!!)it doesn't fit in anymore and the glenching and resulting pressure on my front teeth is waking me up every few hours, it gets to the po...

Re: Is teeth colliding common?
My teeth did this constantly when I first got braces on, the pain of my front teeth were so bad my dentist wanted to root canal them but I waited, I found if I put wax along the bottom row it didn't hurt as bad although I talked a little funny. After 6 months it only starts again after an adjustment...

Re: power chain
I just got my first powerchain today all the way across the top, which seems a little excessive since the gap is between my two back molars, but holy crap I came home right away for pain killers. All the progress with actually being able to eat almost normally again just went out the window again. R...

Re: A really great night guard!
Glad they work for you.
I know they have been a lifesaver for me since I got my braces on and threw away my very expensive custom made guard.

Re: archwire strength
thanks for the article that helped, my ortho seems happy with the changes in my bite, so I'm guessing I have the joy of elastics coming at my next appointment.
I'm hoping speedy progress means these things get off sooner.

archwire strength
so I'm 4 months into my treatment and apparently I'm already on the highest strength wire there is. Aside from the fact that it went on yesterday and my teeth are freaking, that seems fast to me. I've only had 3 adjustments since my initial appointment. Granted my teeth were fairly straight to begin...

www.plackers.com is the website for the guard
ya the drooling really isn't fun with those things and not particularily attractive either

Re: Molar Build-Ups poll-HELP!
I feel your pain, I'm a big clencher and cracked right through a molar a few years ago. I discussed my clenching issues(which are mostly at night for me)with my ortho and he suggested using a sports guard(the kind to boil and fit) and just cutting it to make it fit around my braces to protect my tee...
