Re: Getting Braces TOMORROW! Please Help!?
I have another question about the braces... once I get braces, will I be able to do things like going to the gym, eating steak, chicken, and physically-draining activities, or will I be too weak or something?

Getting Braces TOMORROW! Please Help!?
Alright, so I'm a male who is 20 years-old. After much wait, my journey finally starts tomorrow. I'm finally getting my braces on and will need to have them for the next 2+ years. Any advice? What should I expect? I have a pretty severe underbite. What are some tips you guys could share with me? I c...

What do you think of this?
So basically, I am a 20 year-old male who will be needing braces + jaw surgery. My underbite is a pretty severe case, so I'll be needing around 2 years of braces pre-surgery. To make a long story short, I was referred to an orthodontist which I'm comfortable with, however, he referred me to a surgeo...

Can a protuding lower jaw make you look skinner?
Can it? For example, this girl over here is pre-surgery: http://i53.tinypic.com/2jeus8o.jpg Her jaw is very pronounced and she looks skinny. Here is her 35 days post-op: http://i55.tinypic.com/2d1s2fm.jpg Her face is a lot more full and she doesn't look as skinny. Is it just me or does anybody else ...

Do you ever hesitate to ask questions?
I know, I know, orthodontic surgery is a MAJOR surgery and you should ask as many questions as possible before starting anything. However, sometimes I find myself hesitating to ask questions because I don't want to be too much of a 'nudge' if you know what I mean. I don't know why, does this happen ...

Re: What should I do (please help)?
If I were you, I'd probably find another orthodontist, mainly because I don't like the sound of him trying to pressure you into going to see the surgeon simply to get the process started. What's his rush? Are you not covered by insurance for orthodontics after 19? I can see your orthodontist's poin...

Re: What should I do (please help)?
... However, here's where things get tricky. My orthodontist referred me to a surgeon he worked with often, and I've been to his office once already. I'm not sure if I'm very comfortable with him. The positives are, he is said to be very experienced, and he has a website with some videos of patient...

Re: What should I do (please help)?
The one thing I don't understand is, I've heard that when doing this type of surgery, the orthodontist and the surgeon have to work together. The orthodontist puts the braces on, and the orthodontist and surgeon keep in touch with each other to make sure things are going as planned as you prepare fo...

What should I do (please help)?
So I'm in a confusing situation and I don't know what to do. Basically, I'm a 19 year-old (20 in September). I don't have braces on right now. I will need to get braces puts on + undergo orthodontic surgery to fix an underbite. I currently have an orthodontist which I'm comfortable with. I've been t...

To anybody who's already had jaw surgery...
This is a question for you - If you give one tip of advice to a person who is going into jaw surgery on a pretty severe case, what would you tell them? What would it be? Just trying to make sure I'm as prepared as possible :). You can give any tip of advice, or say anything that you want anybody who...

Help... I feel like an idiot?
Here's my story: I'm currently a 19 year-old guy. I noticed my severe underbite a couple of years ago. Not knowing what it really was, I visited an orthodontist who told me I needed surgery. So I got started on my journey... after seeing multiple orthodontists, I finally found one who both 1) Took m...

How to tell if a surgeon is good or not?
What are some things to look out for during a consolation? I know looking up for reviews and googling the doctors name is a good way to find out more, but what else? I have a consolation with a surgeon in a couple of days. I'm going with my mother to get another opinion. What are some things to look...

Re: Does anybody have experience with Dr. Stuart Super in NY
IWantNewSmile: Hey... yes, I've checked his website. What did you tell him via e-mail, and what did he respond with, if you don't mind me asking? Yeah, I already saw that video and those reviews lol. He has both good and bad reviews, I've seen a couple of videos like that, as well as newspaper artic...
