Re: Second surgery to fix bad result - Pics included
First Surgery was a failure, left with 5mm offset both upper and lower jaw and extreme open bite. Second Surgery is 100% different and better (results) though I seem to be 'stuck' with numbness, no progress since 6 weeks post surgery. Am 8 1/2 weeks post surgery at this writing. I was told the swel...

Beetle: I had the surgery done at UCLA by Dr. Felsenfeld. Good luck with your surgery! Wish you the best.
Second surgery: Why did you have your surgery redone? As far as numbness goes, I didnt ask the surgeon but I have an appointment with him on Friday so ill ask him then.

Second surgery to fix bad result - Pics included
Hey guys. In June of 2011 I had double jaw surgery to fix my underbite. My top jaw was moved forward 4mm and cut into 3 pieces to expand it. Lower jaw was brough back 4mm. Although my bite was fixed, the surgeon, ortho, and I agreed that we did not achieve the best possible result aesthetic wise. Al...

I was seen by one of the residents who was present the day of the surgery. She said that everything looked really good. She wasnt sure if my surgeon was going...

Re: August 2012 Buddies!
Ramirez, Can you comment on how the 3-piece upper jaw surgery feels in comparison to your pre-op upper jaw width? Does it feel like there's noticeably more room for your tongue to rest up on your upper palate? I am having a 3-piece lefort later this year. Thanks Hey Marisama, this is the second tim...

Re: August 2012 Buddies!
Welcome, Jeff! I also had surgery on the 15th. 3 piece lefort and bsso. How's recovery been for you? I've been feeling better and better everyday. Most of the swelling has subsided. I had my first post op appointment with my oral surgeon yesterday and he said everything looks very good. It was a sho...

Re: Length of numbness and how did it end?

Are you concerned it could be permanent? i had surgery to correct an underbite but my ortho concluded that i did not achieve an adequate setback of my lower jaw. also, my upperjaw was t...

Re: August 2012 Buddies!
day 4 post op of double jaw surgery for the second time. the day after surgery (thursday) and friday were definitely the roughest but i am actually feeling OK! I feel like last year I had a harder time during recovery, especially that first week. Swelling has already started to subside. The couple t...
