Another adjustment, another new evil!
So today my ortho covered 3 out of 4 of my back molars with weird metal brackety things. Question- what are they? What will they do? I know I should have asked the ortho but I get quite uptight when I'm in the hotchair!!!

I totally agree! Fabulous! I guess if you have been through all that with braces though you want to get as perfect (in your own mind) as you can.

Yes I can whistle but I have only been braced for a week...will monitor as my treatment progresses :)

Orthodontic wax!! It is the only thing that has kept me sane this first week of braces. Such relief from the scratching inside my cheeks.
Ordered some bubble gum flavoured wax from ebay too!

My ortho says 12-18 months but he says he hopes to complete treatment "much, much quicker than that"

I'm 34 and most people have been really nice. Some talk about the braces they had when they were younger and some say I'm brave...some even say that they are thinking about getting their own teeth done. Nobody has been openly mean anyway!

Sounds like I was in a similar position to you.... had a molar removed last year that I had all sorts of problems with (filling, crown, extraction) and ended up with a gap. That seemed to make some other teeth move (or maybe I'm just getting old!) and I looked at Invisalign too but my dentist didn't...
