Sorry to hear you're feeling discomfort! In terms of the hooks, I've found that putting wax over the offending hooks helped; there's a hook on my bottom wire right now that was rubbing a nasty canker sore into my lip, and using wax really helped until the skin "toughened up".

I just found out today that I am scheduled for surgery on July 30th. I know I'm having a two-piece Lefort I and a BSSO, but I'll know the full list of procedures after my pre-surgery workup on the 23rd.

Thanks, Nathaniel! I will definitely post my surgery date once I get it. Have you done any shopping for post-surgery supplies yet, or are you waiting? I'm holding off until I have a date and my pre-surgical consult, but I found that the list on the forum has been really helpful.

Congrats on your upcoming surgery! I haven't received a date yet, but I'm supposed to have a two-piece Lefort I and BSSO sometime in August. Just received insurance approval and am waiting for the surgeon's office to contact me for scheduling. Can't wait to do this!

I've had braces for 2 months now. Until today, one of my lower left incisors was left untied. The ortho had it tied today, so I'm assuming that's pretty normal, based on what has to shift where in your mouth.
