Re: Inman aligners
Hi Kated I winced every time I removed or replaced mine the first few weeks, I hit the painkillers too but technique wise try this- take the pressure off the back by getting your nail in the gap behind your front teeth and pushing back then pull down on the side. To replace, line the side parts up w...

Re: Inman aligners
Second check up yesterday (5 weeks total). Saw a massive amount of movement week 3-4, even on the rotated tooth, unfortunately it also starts to move back quite quickly when the IA is out. First thing in the morning they are pretty straight :D Dentist said he didn't think I would need much more fili...

Re: Inman aligners
Hi Hannahuk,
Don't worry about the filing, it's ok, just feels weird. They use a fine flexible nail file type thing, it only hurts if they catch your gum. I actually want them to do it on other teeth at the end to make flossing easier!
Good luck.

Re: Inman aligners
Just got back from my first check up (2 weeks). Everything is going well, more filing which means there has been movement. He got my gum this time which was a bit painful and still a little sore but nothing major. Next appointment in 3 weeks. I noticed that one of my bottom teeth was getting sore on...

Re: Inman aligners
So week one. About 4 hours after I had it in it started to make me retch so I had to get it out asap! It made me gag a little about ten mins after I woke up for a couple of days but that settled down. Drooling stopped and has actually now gone the other way, found it's making my mouth really dry, an...

Re: Inman aligners
He said that if I did want to get anything then Steradent does the same job but cheaper. Mind you an extra £5 for Retainer Brite on top of 850 is nothing really. Apparently few people choose coloured ones, you cant see it once its in. Jodie I got mine yesterday so looks like we will be progressing t...

Re: Inman aligners
Well it's in. It's a nice dark purple at the back (my dentist was actually excited that I chose a coloured one!) He said not to bother with Retainer Brite, and that toothbrush and paste will be fine. My left molars were a bit sore by the time I'd walked home but they have settled now, I can feel the...

Re: Inman aligners
Well I get my IA after work on Tues (luckily I have Wed off so I can get used to it a bit). Is everyone still in agreement that retainer bright is the best thing to clean it? And does anyone know where to get a good deal on it (UK)? Is there anything else I need/ should be prepared for? Also I know ...

Re: Inman aligners
Well I had a call from the dentists this afternoon to say that they had had a cancellation so I can have my impressions tomorrow morning (two and a half weeks earlier than I was booked in for) which means I'll have my IA by the end of May :) I think I'm going to go for the coloured one, I just hope ...

Re: Inman aligners
Hi,
It wouldn't bother me if my team saw it (we deal with much less desirable sites on our ward!), and I guess I could always nip to the bathroom if I was out somewhere. And, as I am 5'3" the only people who look up at me are my young niece and nephews. So it may have to be a purple decision :)

Re: Inman aligners
Yes it will be for the top. He said only two of his patients have had colour on their IA, but he thinks it's quite cool. I know you're meant to take them out to eat, but is there anything you can get away with eating with them in? I don't get a lunch break at work so normally snack during break and ...

Re: Inman aligners
Hi dreamer89, I guess it looks like they are on the official site. He said the colour wouldn't be visible when it's in. I'm a bit obsessed with purple but I don't want to regret getting a non clear part. I'm not sure I'll be wearing it at work yet as I work on a stroke unit and I need my patients to...

Re: Inman aligners
Hi All, I'm new here. I had my consultation a couple of weeks ago and just booked for my impressions, unfortunately I have to wait nearly four weeks for them unless they have a cancellation. Fingers crossed. I have never been happy with my top teeth but as I had a milk tooth until I was 19 I wasn't ...
