Re: If you want to see another orthodontist after the treatm

Good luck with getting your money from previous ortho. I sincerely think there are too many now, who just take your money, and have no idea... I met only very few honest ones, who would tell you the true picture in the beginning. And off course, show your old records. If your old ortho was trying to...

Re: Braced at 35. Huge pictures of my Before.

Six month has passed and nothing changed. Elastics did not do anything good, exept pushed my lower jaw upfront so I have now a bulldogy profile. My ortho changed my wire last time 6 months ago. I I guess he is just waiting for my money that comes regularly. I have new TADs placed today. We decided o...

Re: My "long face " smile is gone :)

Good for you that you are noticing positive changes in your face! I don't know what exactly caused or fixed that, but I will mention that I have that long face problem right now. My ortho is putting self-ligating brackets (damon braces) on me because he said that these would widen my smile and make...

Re: Braced at 35. Huge pictures of my Before.

I have been in braces for about 9 months now. And I lost 15 pounds at least. This is a lot for me, since I am only 5'4 and have very wide bones (if you think you have wide bones, I bet mine are wider, my hands are almost same size as my husbands and my feet are wider then his) I wore pants of size 4...

Re: My Story, Frustrated w/ braces

Glad you have sorted that out. It is no big deal to move the teeth in the way they did in your case in 3 weeks. After 3 years of treatment (and even after 6 month of treatment) teeth get pretty loose. They move super fast and easy. but one has to move it somehow. The fact is, some type of braces are...

Re: Elastics Questions...

My top canines were in crossbite and went behind my lower teeth when I bit down. The bite plate was to open my bite long enough to get them out of crossbite, which was estimated to take 4 months but only took 3! It was highly effective but a huge pain int he butt! Glad it's out!! I am glad it worke...

Re: Nervous about wisdom teeth, pre double jaw surgery

Hi Just try to make sure you dont get dry socket, the best way is to just keep your mouth as clean as possible by using salt water rinses after eating or drinking. xx Huh? One should NOT rinse especially for the first 48 hours. One should not keep ice packs for too long and cotton pads for more tha...

Re: Threescompany's (hopefully short) braces journey

looks like you have some space in your mouth that can be found better use)) . (not like mine - all crowded and no space)
I think your teeth will look great very soon.

Re: Elastics Questions...

First, I thought and have read that elastics are usually toward the end, or 2nd half, of treatment. Having said that I am supposed to start mine next month at the 4 month mark of a 12-18 month estimated treatment time. Anyone else get them this early? How long do you typically wear these? I will as...

Re: Foods you try to get away with having braces...

I eat everything and do not even bother to cut apples sometimes.
The only thing I try to avoid is potato chips because they stuck all over and in between the teeth especially , so make me feel uncomfortable until I floss.

Re: Braced at 35. Huge pictures of my Before.

Just a side note: I realized that self-ligating braces are not great in "fine movements" of the teeth, especially rotating them. It took a really thick wire for my lower tooth to rotate. self-ligs just do not have a grip on the wire good enough, the wire is just loose inside. So my advice ...

Re: Volare's Story - 10 months lingual iBraces:New Wire/elas

I had no problems after my Wisdom teeth were removed, and for that I am very thankful. A couple of days ago I met with my ortho for the first time since they were removed. After looking at my bite, he did some wire bending in an attempt to get the rearmost molars on the bottom to intrude. Whereas m...
