Re: My progress with ceramic braces

Ok so it's been a year and 6 days with braces :) lots or changes in that time. My gaps are almost completely closed, although on my top teeth the gum in between the gaps has kind of come down towards the brackets. I'm trying to massage and brush it cos I don't want it to cover the bracket. The ortho...

Re: My progress with ceramic braces

Updated pics of my progress :) Had my braces for almost 9 months now. Can't believe it! Excuse the stained elastics, I go back in 2 weeks to get them changed. I had the little silver hook things put onto my wires so the elastics can hook onto them to close my gaps. My teeth are pretty much perfectly...

Re: Is it me or ceramics tend to be more "noticeable"?

I've got ceramic braces on top & bottom with metal wires, and I was a bit paranoid at first about people noticing them, especially because my mouth was sore I was lisping and talking differently, but turns out after a few months people I spoke to at work every day hadn't even noticed! And a lot ...

Re: 25 and about to get braces.

I'm 25 and had my braces on for 5 months. So glad I decided to do it! Eating was the most frustrating thing for me too, but it gets easier, u slowly start getting more confident in eating foods. I ate lots of mashed potato (added creamy sauces etc for some flavour) yoghurt, mousse, ice cream, milk s...

Re: My progress with ceramic braces

It definitely subsides! :) Mine hurt for maybe the first month then got better, then hurt when I had my first wire change. But most of the time since it's fine and slowly I was able to eat more things :) The pain is definitely worth it when I see the results. When my teeth were achey I'd take nurofe...

Re: My progress with ceramic braces

Everyone is quiet shocked at how quickly they are moving. Wish I had done this years ago now! I have a bit of pain this week, have been clamping my teeth together too. I go back to the ortho on Wednesday so I will take updated pics and compare with the first week ones. I am really surprised at how l...

Re: My progress with ceramic braces

Updated pics taken about 3 weeks ago. Think I've had the braces for 5 months now. Time is going so quickly! I've got the white wire on the top to keep the teeth together, I did notice a tiny gap forming between my 2 front teeth so that is to stop them moving anymore. My gaps are closing quiet slowly...

Re: My progress with ceramic braces

It really is amazing. Everyone said it'd change heaps in a month but I didn't want to get too excited. I think a few more weeks and those 2 front teeth should be lined up without the gap :)

Secretsmile I read ur blog and our cases seem quiet similar :) I'll be keeping an eye on ur journey :)

My progress with ceramic braces

So I got my ceramic braces on my top teeth on the 24th May. :D I have noticed a huge difference already! Bottom braces were put on yesterday - 4th July. Was a bit of an unpleasant visit. They actually fitted metal brackets to my lower teeth when I had paid for ceramics, I got up to wash my mouth bef...

Re: Which foods get stuck in your braces the most?

I've found bread/cakes/chicken and definitely rice. The worst is when food gets lodged in my back teeth and I can feel it but I can't really get it out with my tongue.

Re: New Here Need Opinions

I just turned 25 and I got the ceramic braces and honestly I couldn't be happier as they are very subtle and people hardly notice them. It comes down to personal choice/if you can afford them and if your orthodontist does them. I agree with sunnylocks, do lots of research! I watched heaps of youtube...

Re: Something I've learned from wearing braces....

I have noticed this as well! Before braces I hate drawing attention to my teeth, was so self conscious smiling around people, but then I started telling everyone I was getting braces and I also point them out to people and I've only had positive comments :) I'm actually surprised at how many people ...

Re: 6 teeth extracted! Will my gaps close??

I had 8 extractions almost 4 weeks ago (all 4 wisdom teeth + 4 normal teeth.) I got my top braces on Monday. Hoping my gaps move in quickly so I cam start eating properly and not with my very back teeth.

Re: What was your first meal/food after braces?

I got my top braces on on Monday. The first few days I've only really eaten 2 minute noodles and mashed potato and then mac & cheese. Chili con carne was alright cos I mostly swallowed it :P last night I managed some some cooked broccoli, mashed potato and a piece of crumbed fish. It hurt a bit ...
