Re: Starting with removable brace.

I haven't updated in awhile, and I tried uploading a photo, but it's somehow uploaded sideways (even though it looks normal on my computer!). Anyhow, I had my first adjustment last month and I'm eagerly awaiting my 2nd adjustment in 10 days. I still have one stray bottom tooth to get braced. Amazing...

Wow, what an amazing result! You now have me hoping that with my overcrowding and no extractions, it won't take the full 24 months! I'm loving how white your teeth are... you have a beautiful Hollywood smile now :jump:

Re: Second day in braces

I'm nearing 2 months now and am still on soft food, unable to chew at all because #1 my teeth don't touch in the back @Crazy4Snow that sounds like me! I've become the slowest eater and feel like my tongue does all the 'chewing'. So many times I've nearly felt like I was going to choke because I cou...

Re: New to the Forum

@noveldevice good point... I'm looking forward to having better teeth than him when I'm done! @hadbraces once, I'd say you're never too old to have braces. My mom's in her 60s and I know she's so self conscious about her teeth, to the point that she doesn't like smiling. If it bugs you that m...

Re: No idea what type of metal brackets I have

Do they have the little tiny rubber bands holding the wire to the bracket on every single tooth Hi Robot Teeth, thanks for the suggestion. I don't think they have rubber bands... because they look it's silver or grey and the orthodontist didn't ask if I wanted a different colour. It looks like it t...

Re: Starting with removable brace.

Hi, thanks for your message. In your original pictures, your top teeth look a lot like mine do! Your top removable brace looks a lot more uncomfortable than mine did, with those wires around your top teeth! Mine has two metal hooks on either side that fix to my molars. I went to the dentist for a cl...

Re: So Embarrassed!

It's hard to not feel self conscious, but mainly when I go to the orthodontist's. I've been the only adult patient in the waiting room -- the other adults are parents waiting for their kids. I know what Nettie means. I find that since having braces I'm actually looking at other people's teeth and no...

No idea what type of metal brackets I have

I'm just over a week in braces, starting with braces on the bottom and I have no idea what kind they are. Everyone seems to know whether they are Damon, etc... but I don't. Do I need to ask my ortho at my next appointment, or is it possible to identify by the brackets? I have no idea if they are sel...

Re: top teeth moving back to align teeth-what is happening,

Hmm... Good question! I have the same but I'm wearing a removable brace on the top to help align my bite properly. Because I'm wearing a removable brace, it has a hard plastic bit that sits on my upper palate and is meant to change the angle of my front teeth. Or at least that's how I understood it....

Re: One month down-23 to go....

How exciting that there are others that have started this journey too! I was braced on May 25, so I've just passed the week mark also. Maybe my eyes are sting tricks on me but I think I can see a tiny difference already!
I drink a protein smoothie in the morning. I have lost a good 14 pounds.
Well at least there's a bright side :) Any brand of shake that you prefer? It took me over an hour to eat a salad at lunch. I think I'll be eating soup and protein shakes at work for the for...

Re: New to the Forum

Great to see more people the same age as me just starting their treatment. I'm 34, female and am coming up to the end of week 1 in braces. Exciting but anxious at the same time. It's funny because I don't normally care what other people think!! Good luck on the journey. It's nice to have others goin...

Hello I'm also from the UK, but down south in Berkshire :) Congrats on taking the plunge... Shame you had to do it a second time but that seems quite common on here. You know you've made the right decision. There's nothing like having nice teeth to prove the British stereotype wrong. I remember an i...

Starting with removable brace.

Hi there, Long time reader, first time poster on the forums here. I'm 34 and finally took the plunge to straighten my teeth. I'm on day 6 and have stainless lowers and a removable brace on uppers to fix my deep bite. I'll be wearing the removable brace for 6 months and then swapping to ceramic upper...
