Re: broken arch wire -- AGAIN!
I waxed it - but not pretty or fun! I am not sure how it snapped but it's been at least the 2nd time -- one on the lower and one on the upper, same region. maybe it's just OLD teeth that are stubborn??? (haha, i'm only 48!). Could be they were both fairly close to extractions. Anyway I went in this ...

broken arch wire -- AGAIN!
Just had another arch wire snap! What's the deal? I've had one snap on the bottom -- and not, the top one has broken. And, to top it off, it's Friday night (if only it happened last night, i could go in on "fix-it" day and get it replaced. Now I have to put up with this until Monday. Aargh...

They are not too bad in the am and mid afternoon, but there seems to a point every afternoon where it feels like they are just shredding the insides of my mouth. What's this about? Am i not drinking enough water or something? Su...

Re: Extractions
Aha! Went to dentist today. Dry socket is the culprit! He said 2% of adults who get out their premolars get them. Don't I feel special! (ha) he packed it up with some medicated gauze and -- more pain pills!!

Re: Extractions
Follow up: had upper premolars out Thursday afternoon. I am curious about how long my gums are going to ACHE! It's not acute pain, but it's enough that I've been reaching for the Tylenol and advil at pretty regular intervals. It hurts! Wonder if I'm getting an infection or something? Suggestions? Be...

Unexpected upsides to braces
Besides straighter teeth eventually.

..... I've stopped biting my nails! (probably because I can't but I've tried and tried and tried and couldn't quit before :-)
What're your experiences?

Re: Extractions
I had my 2 pre-molars extracted about 4 hours ago. So far, so good. Bleeding's stopped, numbness is starting to subside. I just ate some noodles for dinner. Worst thing about the procedure was one of the numbing shots (must have hit the end of a nerve the dentist said). The actual extraction felt we...

Tonsillectomy & mono @ 47 -- Why not braces @ 48?
Ok, I'm in as of 6/20/2011. My 11 yr old HAS to tell everyone her mom got braces; the 14 yr old who has 3 weeks to go is totally bewildered. Can't I just be low-key???
