I am! Oct. 27th is my day. I'm having double jaw surgery with genioplasty, and I'm so nervous. It will be nice to have "buddies".

I'm about to go through orthognathic surgery and am wondering how much your speech is affected throughout the process. First, the braces - does that affect your speech? Then the surgery - are you able to speak afterwards and how long is it before you are able to speak normally again? I'm a linguist ...

Did either of you dive with braces? If so, was there any discomfort or problems?

How do they determine that your jaw is healed...how long has it been?

I'm wondering, how do they determine when your teeth are "ready".

Looks like we'll be going through all of this at approximately the same time. I'm about to get my braces next week. Can't wait to see how we both do. I'm excited to finally get this done!
