Today's the day!!!
In 4 hours time, the process of freeing my teeth will begin!!! Am ridiculously excited and can't wait to see my new smile properly! After so many months of enviously reading people's debonding posts, it's my turn!! Have got a bit of work to have done post debonding so won't be posting pics till it's...

Re: Have you ever regretted it?
Hi I've not regretted it for a single moment - had a few "what the ****" moments but no regrets. My braces are coming off the day after tomorrow - woohoo!!! - and I'm so excited, I can't wait to see my new smile properly! Hang in there - there will be wobbly moments but it's all sooo worth...

Re: Bottoms of my teeth don't line up - and I'm almost done!
Hi
They can either shave a bit off the teeth on the other side or add a bit to the teeth that are slightly shorter, to make them the same length - I'm going for adding a bit (but the difference in mine is slightly more obvious....).
Good luck!

Re: Bottoms of my teeth don't line up - and I'm almost done!
Hi trisportgirl I have a similar situation, where my bite was so off over the years that my teeth have worn unevenly. My dentist is going to sort them out for me once braces are off and whitening has been done. My ortho has made no mention of him being prepared to do it and to be honest, from previo...

Re: Honestly, do you floss?
I've never managed to floss with braces but I do use a Waterpik twice a day - morning and night. It's been an absolute life saver.
I must admit, I would agree with other posts here - you should do something....would be a shame to waste all that time, effort and money....

Re: Hygienist following debonding - advice please!
Thanks for the replies - that's really put my mind at rest...
After the cleaning comes whitening, then some 'tidying up' to put right all the damage done to my teeth by my bite being off for so many years....
All getting very exciting now!

Hygienist following debonding - advice please!
I've just been to see my dentist to discuss some work I need to have done post braces and she has said she wants me to see the hygienist when they come off - despite my ortho complimenting me on my oral hygiene each time I go for an adjustment... Is this normal or am I being ripped off?? My understa...

Re: I've got a debonding date!!!
Take heart, ArchWired28! My ortho kept doing that too! Two adjustments ago, he said I'd just need a couple more appointments then we could talk about debonding so I was thinking it would be October/November before they came off. Then this week he threw me by saying if I'm happy with at the next appt...

Thanks elainek! I love all the before and after pics too - they certainly keep you going when it feels as if you can't do this any more don't they?

Re: I've got a debonding date!!!
I know what you mean! I have spent so many months reading people's happy posts about being given a debonding date and feeling pleased for them (and wishing it were me!!) All the time and money has been so worth it. Especially when I saw someone I hadn't seen for months recently and she couldn't get ...

I've got a debonding date!!!
Oh happy, happy days!! At my adjustment yesterday, my ortho said that as long as at the next appt. I'm happy with the way my teeth are, he'll take the impressions for retainers and a week later take the braces off!!! So that'll be 28 September !!!!!!! :jump: It's just not possible to put into words ...

Re: 16 months.. elastics..
Hi Yep, I've had just one elastic (after almost a year of having them on both sides). It was just to finish opening up the bite on one side. Usually, elastics are kept in all day, except when eating and changed daily. (I wouldn't try eating with them! on the few times I forgot to take them out, I al...

Re: Permanent retainers
Thanks for the advice re celebratory meals, bushbaby! I had planned on going out for a slap up meal but I'll put it off for a while now! My nerves about retainers are lessening by the day as my excitement at getting debraced increases! It's all I can think about at the moment - and I haven't even go...
