Re: Elastics

The energy to chew gum is more work than it's worth. I use to love chewing gum, now I act as though it doesn't exist. Lol. Good luck on Thursday. I am sure you will be fine.

Re: Can´t chew with my mouth closed!

The easiest way is to chew small pieces at a time. Also I chew on whatever side feels best. Gone are the days of being able to chew on both sides during meal. SMH.

As your teeth shift, your bite will change. It's normal. Your bite will change many times during this journey. Sometimes better, sometimes worst.

Re: got my debracing date :)

Congratulations! I have no clue how long I will endure this journey, so it's nice to hear someone who can see the light at the end of the tunel.

Re: Mother and son doing braces together

Congratulations to you both. My son and I have braces too. He is 15. He got his a year before I did. You will get used to the ceramic brackets. Get lots of wax because they will irritate your cheeks at thimes.

Re: Teeth literally LOOSE..

It's normal. They have to become loose so that they can move into their corrected position. My orthodontist said that it's fine.

Gap between my front teeth

I have a sizeable gap between my 2 front teeth which is what I am using the braces to close most of all. However, because of this gap, the wire between my 2 front teeth is cutting up the inside of my upper lip which is quite painful. Wax doesn't really work because #1 asthetically it doesn't look go...

Re: Okay.. I've taken the plunge..

I really am going to have to make a list of what not to eat. I the water pik is my best friend. LOL I am still irritated by...

Re: 8 Days in

Thank you Tara! I can't wait to get to that point. The next thing that bothers the hell out of me is the food getting stuck in my braces and brackets. I think I have the cleanest teeth I have ever had because I brush immediately after eating since I hate the feeling of food in my teeth. LOL I see yo...

8 Days in

Well, I am 8 days into having my braces on. Most of the discomfort is gone. I have ceramic braces and they still scratch my gums and lips. I haven't had to use the wax in a few days, so I guess it is getting better. Can anyone tell me how long will it be before the braces become more comfortable in ...

Re: waterpik question

I use my Waterpik at least 2 times a day also since I can't stand the feel of food in my teeth and it is much easier than flossing. There is a portable rechargable 1 too that might be quieter.

Re: Braces Day 2 - pain not as expected

Thank you. What is a molar build up? Yea, the most anooying this is the brackets scratching my cheeks but I am using wax and will definitely have to buy some more.
