Re: Cracked tooth in Splint, teeth wiggling

Are you wearing a splint because you're upper jaw was segmented?

You could have parafunctional habits at night (i.e. clenching, grinding your teeth) which can cause some of the problems you are having.

There are other concerning things about your situation. PM me.

Re: back to square 1 with doctor search

This boggles me. The only answer I can think of is that he may be a single degree oral surgeon (meaning that he only has a DDS versus a DDS equivalent and an MD). Re: my current pics

Both are great techniques and it looks from the picture you can either go SG or implant. Hard to tell without actually looking at the shape of the bony chin. Re: A year since bimax - still stiff/numb?

Sliding genioplasties should not increase your numbness. There's always a chance your nerve may be damaged during the exposure and the bone cut but I believe few oral surgeons have numbness after this procedure. There are definitely ways to avoid the nerve during the exposure and the bone cut. If yo...

Re: Sliding genioplasty question...All help appreciated

Hi Angela, Chin implants are a great option as well as a sliding genioplasty. Both have pros and cons. I believe chin implants are better in a situation where there is not much bone stock and you have to advance the chin quite a bit. The esthetic result is much better and if the implant does not mig...
