Re: BRACES OFF - BEFORE AND AFTER PICS.

Apologies for the giant and rather poor quality pic, oops! suffice to say they were pretty horrible before!

BRACES OFF - BEFORE AND AFTER PICS.

Hey so they're finally off!

I need some motivation to keep wearing my essix which is seemingly the retainer from hell so I thought I'd do a before/after to remind myself how far my teeth have come!

SO happy to be free, although being burdened with the evil essix sucks :P

BRACES OFF :D But retainer driving me MAD. Help?

Hey, I had the six month smie treatment recently and my braces were off last Friday! It was absolutely fantastic :D My front teeth were out of alignment and had to be rotated and my canine pulled in as I had an overjet on one side. I have a fixed retainer which i absolutely adore but today I receive...

Re: Brace Newbie - Six month smiles!

So much useful info. Just had my six month braces fitted today to close the gap between my front teeth. I was told treatment could take up to nine months. So far not as painful as I expected, which is a relief, but those wires are sharp! Thought the braces would have been more discrete but I guess ...

Re: Brace Newbie - Six month smiles!

Don't worry! When mine were fitted the process was a bit uncomfortable but not at all painful - day two hurt a bit though! Just think though, for every second of ache that you may have with them, it means MOVEMENT. The magical M word haha! I'll keep up with your blog :) keep posting and letting me k...

Re: Brace Newbie - Six month smiles!

I didn't get a choice of colour, no - typically I think they use 'lucid lok' or something which are clear ligatures, and clear o rings to go with them - if they DO give you a choice, you may want to go with pale blue o - rings (the rubber bands which go round your ligs) because I've heard they stain...

Re: Brace Newbie - Six month smiles!

Hi Shortie, I had a bad experience with a plate brace as a kid, big plastic thing which extended down for my bottom teeth to clip into. I couldn't talk with it in and it wasn't practical for a young teenager, so I never wore it! Since I was in my late teens & twenties I became more & more c...

Re: Brace Newbie - Six month smiles!

Thanks. I intend to start a blog and keep lots of photos as I think it will help to keep me motivated as I think it's difficult to see changes day by day when you are looking yourself. Not looking forward to doing the before photos, I hate having to smile in pictures! I'd be really interested in se...

Re: Brace Newbie - Six month smiles!

Looks really great, I hope mine move that quickly! :D I promise you personally that you won't regret it! I kept thinking mine wouldn't move at all and now when I smile in the mirror I look like a completley different person - it's unbelievable (aware I sound like a 6 month smiles sales person but I...

Re: Is it normal to have duck lips??

Such a dumb question but is this swelling or what?? My mouth looks full when my lips are closed. My braces are only 48 hrs old so is this swelling from the gums, cheeks and lips or is this something that is here to stay? I feel like my braces consume my entire mouth and its frustrating me so much. ...

Re: Newbie Eating with Ceramics - HELP.

Hey, I have ceramic coloured braces, due for my first adjustment tomorrow. I was very careful about what I ate at first but there was still slight staining, nothing terrifying but they're now a pale yellow tint if you look closely. If you eat staining foods towards the back of your mouth in small ch...

Tooth coloured wire 'peeling'? HELP?

Hey :) Just a bit worried about the wire in my braces. I've had them on for 5 weeks now and all is good; they're the 6 month smile variety, and the wire they've used is tooth coloured - I've been taking very good care of my teeth but I think maybe overly so as the brushing seems to have taken the wh...
