People do not notice them very much. If anything people will admire you for wanting to change your teeth and fix them. You are so new to them, let them grow on you and adapt to a mouth full of metal. The time flies by. I feel like I just got mine and here I am a month away from gettting them off.

I only had one wire change since my braces have been on and that is the only wire change I will have. My teeth are now perfectly straight and we are just using elastics to close some bite gaps etc.

I would say about 6-8 weeks for me. Once I saw progress it went fast. My teeth were straight within 3 months and now we are fixing my bite which is taking forever. Right now my midline is being fixed and that should be about it except for a bit of tweeking.

Yesterday I got my quote. 2 of mine are infected under the gum so they need to removed ASAP. I have no insurance so my total cost is 2900 dollars for the 4 wisdom teeth. OUCH!!! And my surgery is May 30th so I have 2 weeks to come up with 2900 dollars lol. I was in tears after the phone call.

At my most recent adjustment I had to get a powerchain put on to fix a gap. My ortho said I would most likely end up with another gap inbetween my front teeth but this was normal. Things will get worse before they get better usually. Just be patient.

My first wire was a .014 and then 5 months later I got a .018 and the .018 is my last wire. My ortho says its their thickest.

I am self employed so I have no insurance either. I can get insurance but I keep putting it off. So this is an out of pocket expense for me. My ortho said I need general since 4 are being removed and they are all impacted.

I had a bad overjet. My bottom teeth would hit the top of my mouth. It was no fun. My elastics worked in about 12 weeks and my overbite was fixed. Now I am just wearing one side to just move it a bit. The other side is perfect.

I was told 24 mths but chances are they will be off early. My ortho was shocked to see how much my teeth have changed. I wear my elastic constantly and listen and do everything I am told. I am okay with the 24 mths even a few months longer but early would be fantastic.
