Re: Colors!

I'm just beginning week thirteen and I've only had gray/silver. I work in a professional office and wonder if the colored ones would be inappropriate.

Merry Christmas to you! Keep the ibuprofen nearby to keep you smiling for all of those Christmas photos. Good luck to you!

Re: Cheeks are killing me!

Maybe it is an early Christmas gift...but last night's sleep left me without any cheek biting! I felt so blessed when I awoke this morning! Also, earlier in the week I followed the advice of a number of internet sites, saying that Rincinol is an amazing oral rinse that coats the mouth to encourage h...

Re: Do you use the UV cleaner on your Sonicare toothbrush?

I've been using the Sonicare toothbrush for about two weeks. The main reason that I bought it is the various modes, including the sensitive mode. As strange as it might sound, using the toothbrush first thing in the morning and the last thing each evening is becoming something that I really look for...

Re: Cheeks are killing me!

Thanks everyone for the words of advice! I've been using wax when there have been poking wires, but hadn't thought of it for this problem. It seems more like I am catching my cheeks between my clenched teeth at night. Must be doing some very serious thinking in my sleep! Klobirds comment was encoura...

Re: face looking different

I had four extractions done right after Thanksgiving, after having been braced November 2nd. I've lost 9 pounds since bracing day, which is ok by me. But, like some of the other posts, it seems like my smile isn't shaped correctly any more. Husband's co-workers at a Christmas party last night were a...

Cheeks are killing me!

I got braced (tops and bottoms) on November 2, then had two upper and two lower teeth extracted about three weeks later. Although each day has been some new feeling of pain, movement, or just general strangeness in my mouth, my current issue is the inside of my cheeks. Apparently at night I'm clinch...

Re: Anyone know how a ortho will fix the offset midline??

I'm just 5 1/2 weeks into top and bottom braces, with midline issues as well. My top midline is 5 mm off in one direction and the bottom is 2 in the opposite direction. I too am anxious to see how my ortho corrects these issues. I had two upper and two lower teeth pulled 2 weeks ago, so I'm guessing...

Re: I didn't know this would happen

I just got home from having four extractions, and hoping for a nice recovery. The scariest part was leaving with a large amount of heavy-duty ibuprofen from the dentist's office...they must know the first few days could be ugly. The dentist was able to pull two upper and two lower without cutting an...

Re: Tips for eating with braces

Day 5 and I've been wax-less for about 7 hours! Tonight for dinner I had a yummy baked potato topped with steamed (chopped up small) broccoli and melted cheese. It was heaven! Luckily my hubby enjoys the potato skin so he cleaned that up easily. :) I'm getting concerned that I'm not eating well-roun...

Re: Day 2 in braces. Ouch.

As weird as it sounds to be happy in sharing pain stories, I'm also on day two and have lots of pain. My cheeks are raw and I can't chew anything. Today was a three smoothie day with two sides of scrambled eggs. I'm in love with my wax!

Re: Tips for eating with braces

I'm 46 and just about 30 hours into new top and bottom braces...wow! Already my teeth feel like they are moving and it hurts to bite anything...even soft things. Today was a three smoothie day with two sides of scrambled eggs. Wonder if there is a forum documenting weight loss as related to new brac...

Dry lips

Today was my bracing day, and at 46 years old, the way my mouth feels is very strange. My biggest concern right now is the dryness of my lips. The ortho didn't mention this. Is this something that goes away or do I need to be doing something?
