I am getting my braces off on July 9th! My 6 month cleaning is scheduled for the 10th, is this ok? or should I push the cleaning out a week or two? I wasn't sure if I would have any discomfort after having them off?

I was told my next appt. I would get my final wire. They said It usually stays on 3-4 visits. My next appt. is 12/18 and was told to expect to debrace in April or May. I'm now going every 5-6 weeks.

I whitened before. I have clear uppers and I think it helped them be less noticable.

I'm noticing the same thing. Before braces I would whiten my teeth regularly. I use a whitening toothpaste and have my 6 month cleanings but I can tell I'm losing my pretty white color! If anyone finds a whitener you can use with bracees I would love to try it!

My ortho recommended to brush for 2 minutes.

I just got braced last Thursday. The first 2-3 days were the worst. Not really painful just uncomfortable getting used to a mouthful! I had springs put on my lowers, that was the only area I have needed to use wax.

You sound similar to me. I have had mine on for a week tomorrow. I have one tooth on the top that slightly protrudes and lots of crowding on the bottom. It's been an interesting first week! I just had mine put on Thursday, eating has been a chore for me also. I had to have the bite plates put on my bottom molars to build it up and keep me from biting down on the lowers. I am hoping it gets better soon!
