you still need insurance approval, which has taken me 3 months. then make molds again 2 week prior the surgery.

Maybe you have BDD? I don't see why anyone would want to go through this surgery twice.

I'm 5 days post op and the pain from rubber bands start getting to me. It's horrible. Maybe I need to start drinking anti-biotics they gave me.

Just got back home after surgery. Doctor ended up doing upper only. Double jaw was the original plan. Not too much swelling, no nausea, no pain, one side of upper lip is numb, great discomfort associated with the splint, which i have to wear for 6 weeks, banded shut for 2 weeks.

Tomorrow 8:00 AM is my surgery. Woohoo!

I wouldn't worry about your jaw. It might seem off due to overall look. When everything is in the right place after surgery, it will probably look fine.

After a few minutes, I did notice your lower jaw was moved a little.
Still, not enough to fix receded jaw. But improvement is an improvement.

There is more than that to it. I have pretty bad crossbite too.

There is a risk of losing sensitivity with lower jaw. Just upper i guess.

Well, yea. If I don't close my mouth, its hard to see. If i close my mouth and relax my lips, it's pronounced.

Who knows how things work in India. You need genioplasty, not jaw surgery, since your bite is fine.

Of course this surgery is optional.

If it doesn't bother you in any way, why do it?

It's my dream to have this surgery done.
