Re: Missing teeth and braces
Hi Isabelle, I'm no expert but I think it is possible to get braces with the missing teeth; but the fake front tooth would have to be removed because there's no way the braces will be able to be secure and bonded on false teeth.

Re: Teeth shifting whilst waiting on retainers. Distraught
That sucks that you have to wait so long for your retainers. I recieved mines the same day but would have rather waited to get my molds done because my gums were so swollen when the braces were removed. When my gums went down after getting a thorough and deep cleaning the retainer no longer fit!

Re: How do you clean your retainer?
My ortho recommended Efferdent denture tablets so I went out and bought a 6 month supply. When that runs out, I will give the Retainer brite a go.

Congrats, my.gums were also swollen when I got mines removed in September, ended up having to get new retainers because they wouldn't fit when the gum swelling reduced.

Re: Help! A tooth has moved while waiting for retainers!
Agreed with the saliva getting caught up in the retainer. I find myself spitting tons a day and when I remove the retaineeto clean it or rinse my mouth the saliva and smell are gross.

Re: When your lips are completely relaxed, do they touch?
before braces I forced my lips closed which always ended up in a mean look now when my lips are actually relaxed they hang open in a little in a sexy pout.

Re: Wearing elastics only at night?
unfortunately I have to wear them while eating (to activate) and I have to double them up to fix my crossbite, talk about painfulMatilda wrote:I was told to wear my elastics 24 hours a day except for brushing, drinking and eating.

Re: How often do you change your elastics?
I'm guessing treatment varies I was changing mines out 3x daily but when I informed my ortho she suggested twice daily was better because it gives the bands time to get activated. I'm wearing bands to correct a crossbite.

Re: Elastics, OMG OUCH!
I've worn elastics for the majority of my brace journey. I'm close to the end of my journey and my ortho suggested I double up and eat with the bands on to try to get it activated. She even told me that changing the bands twice a day was sufficient enough

Re: Yawning pain and worsening bite
sounds like the trials and tribulations of adult braces. You may want to try to take a couple pain killers and try to be more careful while eating, speaking, and everything else that involves the mouth. Also try using wax and numbing cream
